Mannnnnnn…. I’ve been dreading this post my entire life. The post that officially closes the biggest book of my life. What baseball has meant to me and my life I’m not even sure if words can really describe. This sport has grown me into who I am and who I will always be. It has been so much more than just a game to me, it has taught me everything I have needed to learn about life. Playing baseball you learn everything from how to grind through hard times and deal with failure, to enjoying little signs of success because in this game they do not come that often. The love I have for this game started at such a young age for me and honestly I think I have always been in denial that it would ever be over. Looking back on my career I am confident in saying I made the little kid version of schieff very proud. There was not an ounce left in me that I did not give to this sport and I am happy with myself knowing what I put into the game over the years. This journey has been so incredible and I am so blessed for all the teammates, coaches, and fans I have shared the ballpark with. Baseball will forever hold a special place in my heart and I know I will be surrounded by it the rest of my life but man am I gonna miss the little things that went into it, the late night hitting sessions, the long bus rides and playing mafia, the phone calls I had with my gramps after every game, the hugs I would give family and friends before every game, and the recaps I would have with the teammates at the end of each day. I hope with it all being over I was able to impact peoples life’s and the way they view this game. For the young guys I shared the field with, I hope y’all saw something in me that you now wanna go do yourselves. To play with heart, passion, and a mentality that will never allow you to lose even in the hard times. This game played a big part in getting me closer to the lord (testimony on last slide), gave me connections that I will hold for a lifetime, and most importantly left me with memories that I will never forget. Baseball I love you, thank you so much for an incredible career❤️

Never wanted this day to come but it finally has, thank you baseball for everything. This game has shaped me into the person I am today and has taught me how to compete, fail, and show up every single day. I’m beyond grateful for every moment and for all the teammates and relationships baseball has brought me over the years. This game was my first love and has been my whole life and I can’t thank it enough. #5out
