Sara and Micah’s wedding was full of so many little thoughtful details that told their story and brought their families into the celebration 🤍

With their shared love of fishing and time spent on the water, coastal touches were woven throughout the day. Micah even gifted his groomsmen fishing rods, and they spent the morning fishing together before getting ready for the wedding.

The sailfish matchboxes were a nod to their proposal, while tiny Norwegian flags in the appetizers honored Sara’s maternal side of the family, including loved ones who weren’t able to make the long trip.

Beyond all those personal touches, this was such a joyful celebration. There was so much excitement around these two, and the dance floor was full of energy all night.

We love when the details of a wedding carry so much meaning for the people celebrating, and S + M’s day was a beautiful example of that.

it’s truly such an honor to have been chosen for this list, and especially in such good company… among some of the top photographers across the globe!

it is a little bit crazy to think that i have been lucky enough to call this work since 2010, and i am so, so grateful to be able to make a living doing what i love. it’s honestly surreal to be able to work alongside mi mateo (the video king!), as well as my wonderful team of remarkably kind & hardworking artists (🫶🏻 you guys!!)… to be able to collaborate with the most insanely creative & talented vendor partners (LITERALLY!), and most importantly, to serve the world’s greatest clients ❤️

we still cannot believe that our “day in the office” includes being privy to some the happiest moments life can offer— the formation of families 🥹 to get to peek into the lives of the absolute coolest, kindest, most beautiful couples— to make art in a space that is lifted up in a love so strong that it’s palpable— to get to travel the world with our girls in tow to capture love stories in the dreamiest destinations— to be inspired time after time after time.

this career has brought us so many beautiful friendships, so much exposure to the loveliest cultures and traditions, & so much joy and gratification. this recognition feels like icing on the cake to a career that already fills my soul ❤️ thank you x a million to @loverly, our vendor partners, and every single client we are fortunate enough to work with! When you picture a tented wedding, you’re probably thinking about the beautiful tables, the flowers, and everyone celebrating inside.

And we love that part, too.

But before any of those details come together, there’s a whole lot happening behind the scenes that has absolutely nothing to do with choosing linens or centerpieces.

Tented weddings are some of the most exciting celebrations to design because there’s so much freedom to create something from scratch. They’re also a completely different planning experience than working within an established indoor venue - and funny enough, some of the biggest decisions are the ones you’d never notice in your wedding photos!

We may plan luxury weddings, but most of our days are far less glamorous.

For every beautifully set table and perfectly placed detail, there are many more days spent at our desks sending emails, building timelines, reviewing floor plans, coordinating vendors, receiving packages, and handling all the little things that have to happen first.

Turns out, we spend a lot more time preparing for weddings than actually being at them 😂

But that’s the work that make the beautiful part possible, and we really do love all of it ❤️

A sailcloth tent is a stunning blank canvas, but without intentional design, it can easily end up looking just that— blank. Working alongside the amazing @lynn_aaron of @nouvelleweddings, we created a space full of dynamics, height, movement, and texture… an atmosphere of elegance and beauty that was perfectly fitting for our wonderful couple.
