TODAY!!! 🖼💚 Our 74th Annual Clothesline Art Sale is this Saturday, July 25! Featuring the works of nearly 300 artists, shop the sale in-person (socially distanced) from 9am–4pm and online at shop.guildhall.org from 9am–11:59pm. Works range in price from $75 to $5,000 with all proceeds split 50/50 between the artist and Guild Hall.

The Clothesline Art Sale is one of the most beloved and affordable art traditions in the Hamptons since its inception in 1946. It has provided accessible artwork to the community, while supporting the local artists who thrive here. Throughout our history, great artists such as Alfonso Ossorio, James Brooks, John Little, Jackson Pollock, Lee Krasner, and Elaine and Willem de Kooning have shared their talents to support Guild Hall in this unique annual fundraising effort.

We're are so excited to continue the tradition of Clothesline by holding the sale outdoors on the grounds of Guild Hall following all social-distancing protocols and government safety guidelines. In addition, we're also utilizing a touchless online-only purchasing system that will allow for safe and easy check-out, while also allowing you to shop from the comfort of your home.

Sooo heartbroken to hear my dear friend Peter Beard passed away in Montauk not far from his home. I’m so upset I didn’t find you when I was looking for you when you were missing in Montauk. 💔I took this portrait photo of PB in his apartment on 57th Street I think in 2005(PB took our selfie with my camera before selfies were popular). I met PB when I first moved to NYC and didn’t know a soul. I said I was an artist and he said he was too and invited me to his gallery opening exhibition at the Time is Always Now. I didn’t know who he was, but as soon as I walked in, he came running with his arms up in the air calling out my name and he wouldn’t let go of my hand and introduced me to everyone in that room. PB introduced me at different times to so many many different people like Mick Jagger @mickjagger , Jean Paul Gaultier, #jeanpaulgaultier Simon LeBon #simonlebon PB took a video interview @markbakerskater at #Lotus on 14th Street (can’t remember which year) with me and @parishilton. I eventually had a fashion store in soho literally caddy corner to Time is always now and my friends and I would go visit him all the time. @petertunneyart Amazing memories with you both. PB was the same way full of energy when I saw him at his Guild Hall exhibition many many years later. PB always had a big open heart, full of energy and stories and always up for an adventure. His family emphasized that he be remembered as “an extraordinary artist, an insatiable traveler, a hero of the conservation movement, a lover of life, of Africa, of adventure, of his family and friends.” Sending love ❤️ and hugs to Nejma, Zara and his brothers. @zara_beard you said it best, there will be less magic in the world without you PB. Rest In Peace my dear friend. You will be truly forever missed peterbeardart #love #rippeterbeard #endgame #fiftyyearsofportraits #montauk #nyc #newyork #photographer #legend #friend #peterbeardportrait #artist #africanwildlife #legendaryphotographer #adventurous #pioneer #worldisasadplacewithoutyou As page six @pagesix wrote “He died where he lived: in nature”
