Life isn’t only about reaching great heights, levels of success, or acquiring monetary forms of wealth.

We spend so much time today worshipping the people who will neglect who and what’s most important to them for such goals. But if you were to look at your life from a birds-eye view and consider: “What do I want my life to look like?”

What comes to mind?

What would you like to do with your time, who would you want to be with or around, what kind of impact would you want to have, and who would you want to be?

Once you get clear on what you REALLY want on a deep level, in every role, you can begin facilitating the steps that make the attainment of such a life, far more likely.

One where your journey is enjoyable, vs. one spent convincing yourself that “once you’re there,” you’ll be content, and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

From a multi-layered perspective, I’ve began to contemplate my different roles as a father, husband, friend, brother, son and entrepreneur. From there, I can ideate how I want my life to look in my post playing journey.

How can I create the life I want? What kind of work do I want to do? Who do I need to be? How do I need to act? And how can I best serve those around me, in those particular roles?

Deep questions that are worth considering, I think.

And the embodiment of such goals is something I’ve realized will not come easily, nor quickly.

Rather its about taking steps words that grand ideal, each and everyday. Understanding that this journey and trekking up the hill is where the most magnificent moments are found. In the day by day, mundane work no one else sees. And being able to find joy in that bricklaying.

Sometimes it’s engaging in really deep work on the business, sometimes it’s being present with my kids when they’re playing and not being anywhere but where my feet are, or listening to a friend that’s going through a tough time.

But everyday, with those ultimate, distal, long-term ambitions etched out in your mind, lay a brick. Do the work for the day that fulfills your roles and will increase the likelihood that your existence will be spent building something that matters to you 🧱

I was born and raised in this city and am beyond proud to call it my home. I grew up in the suburbs just outside of it with a dream. And I’ve traveled the world and been fortunate enough to see those childhood ambitions become reality.

To bring it all back around full circle and get to finish off my playing career in my hometown, for my club, and get to tip my hat farewell to everything the games given me… words don’t do justice.

Thank you to the game of football and thank you, Chicago ❤️🏙️

Heading back to Madison tomorrow to walk at graduation (finally), and it’s wild how many memories come rushing back.

UW was the place that changed my trajectory because it led me to the first time in my life when I learned what real responsibility actually looked like. What ownership felt like. And what accountability demanded.

Those years taught me that nobody hands you confidence, success, or opportunity. You create them through how you show up when no one’s watching. Through the daily actions that quietly build relentless self-belief. And that’s the foundation that I’ve carried with me to this day; through the setbacks, disappointments, and failures alike. And it’s the same foundation I’m trying to pass on now through BTB.

Walking that stage tomorrow will feel less like a finish line and more like a reminder of where it all started. The place that taught me to bet on myself long before any of this was real.

Grateful for every lesson. Grateful for how far they’ve taken me. And grateful that I get to hand those lessons down to the next generation coming up behind me.

All the reason your baby and kid needs a sheepskin:

- helps them self regulate when overwhelmed
- gives them a cozy resting place that feels inviting and nurturing
- de-stress after or during a tantrum
- great for kids with sensory issues
- helps them rest and sleep longer (babies will take more restful naps)
- reduces pain for newborns

Something I learned from reading when I was younger was the importance of finding a good mentor. Someone you could come to with life/business/career questions, whose success you wanted to emulate, and who could help guide and point you in the right direction. Having the courage to ask this guy to be mine as a rookie in the league was one of my better decisions.

Happy birthday my brother and thank you for everything, always 💪🏼🩵
