Some achievements are measured by a certificate. Others are measured by the journey it took to earn it.

I’m incredibly proud to officially become a KISS Sidewinder CCR Instructor.

It’s been a long road of training, learning, refining skills & overcoming challenges. Every dive has been another opportunity to learn and every lesson has helped shape the diver and instructor I am today.

A massive thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way—my mentors, dive buddies, friends, and everyone who has shared their knowledge and experience with me. I’m especially grateful to KISS Rebreathers for their trust and the opportunity to represent such a respected name in the CCR world.

This isn’t the end of the journey—it’s simply the start of a new chapter. I can’t wait to share it with the divers I’ll have the privilege of teaching.

Here’s to many more dives, plenty more learning, and always striving to be better.

See you underwater.

TOP TIPS FOR BETTER GAS CONSUMPTION👇🏼

1. Reduce Excess Weight
Overweighted divers carry more gas in their BCD or drysuit, making buoyancy harder to control and increasing effort. A proper weight check can sometimes improve gas consumption immediately.

2. Improve Trim
A horizontal trim creates less drag and allows you to move efficiently through the water.
Swimming head-up is like driving with the handbrake on.

3. Improve Your Buoyancy
Poor buoyancy is one of the biggest gas wasters. Divers who constantly inflate, deflate, ascend, descend, and correct depth are working much harder than necessary.
Good buoyancy = less movement = less breathing.

4. Use Efficient Propulsion
Strong bicycle kicks and constant finning waste energy. Techniques such as frog kick, modified frog kick or efficient flutter kick can significantly reduce workload.

5. Slow Down
One of the simplest ways to improve gas consumption. Many divers rush without realizing it. Move and turn slower.

6. Relax
Stress is often a bigger gas consumer than depth. An anxious diver can easily consume twice as much gas as a relaxed diver doing the same dive.

7. Perfect Your Breathing
Don’t force slow breathing. Breathe naturally, and avoid short irregular breaths and breath holding. Exhale longer than inhale.

8. Stay Warm
Cold water increases breathing rate, heart rate and muscle tension. A properly fitting exposure suit often improves gas consumption more than people expect.

9. Reduce Task Loading
The more things you’re trying to do the more gas you’ll use. Experience helps because many tasks become automatic.

10. Improve Physical Fitness
A fitter diver has a lower resting heart rate, recovers faster and uses oxygen more efficiently.
Technical divers often underestimate how much fitness helps underwater.

11. Streamline Your Equipment
Dangling gear creates drag. A streamlined diver moves easier and consumes less gas.

12. Gain Experience
This is the biggest one. New divers often consume much more gas simply because everything is unfamiliar. As skills become automatic, stress drops and gas consumption improves naturally.

There’s something about diving that words will never quite capture. The silence, the feeling of weightlessness, the way the whole world disappears above you. You just have to feel it. 🌊🤿❤️ #girlsthattechdive #meandmyrevo #blueholedahab #dahab #egypt
