TLDR: 10 years, man. 10 years.

It’s been a decade since this image was created, born out of frustration and anger at yet another ham handed, misinformed regulatory decision by our beloved government leaving small businesses, harm reduction advocates, consumers, former smokers, and an entire industry born from a free market solution to a public health crisis scrambling once again for answers and guidance. “tHe DeEmInG rEgS 8/8/16”

As awful as the circumstances were, this idea changed my life entirely. It gave me access to a community that was welcoming, creative, passionate, and determined. I made lifelong friends, traveled the country, started Deep Cuts, and was given a platform to creatively express my opinions and occasionally share some music recommendations along the way.

It’s discouraging to look back a decade later and realize that, in some ways, the needle may have moved marginally but the narrative and the efforts to dismantle and destroy this technology remain as tenacious and vicious as ever.

But so does the spirit that built this movement in the first place.

That same scrappy, DIY spirit that built, fought for, and fortified this technology and the community around it is still alive. And after ten years, I’m proud to say I’m still here, a bit quieter and fatigued but still incredibly grateful for everything this community has given me- V&V

If you can just walk away from it, you probably weren’t meant for it.

We often let what we are doing define us.
You aren’t what you do.
You aren’t what has happened to you.

We are more than the summary of these things, and yet we all want to find meaning, peace, and a life that matters.

My Dad used to say, “Focus on being who you are. What you do may change, but in being who you are you will find what you were meant to do.”

I didn’t always understand that, and I definitely haven’t figured it all out, but I’m glad I’m still in the pursuit of the calling to be myself over losing myself in doing stuff.

We never know where exactly we are headed but it always ends up being an adventure.

Riding motorcycles is one of the best mediums for making friends, and staying connected.

I gave @coilturd and @thundercloud.official a whole bunch of guff during the buildup to release for this RTA. But they did a fantastic job. Even broke out some of the last of my bule bolu(circa 2022). #anrta #cluckingchouds

If you ride you know Ewan McGregor articulated this so well.

Riding is a freedom that is often an indescribable joy.
