@m_editat Technology alone doesn’t make great art.

Software alone doesn’t make great content.

What makes accounts like this interesting is the combination of technical skill and creative decision-making.

The effects are impressive.

The ideas behind them are what keep people watching.

Have you ever tried learning 3D software?

Motion Between Frames.

This clip recreates a linear zoetrope effect, where still images along a wall appear animated as a train passes by. The motion, spacing, and window shutter effect work together to create smooth movement through persistence of vision.

Although it looks real, the entire scene is digitally built in Blender, simulating the mechanics of an analog animation.

In this video by @m_editat, what you are seeing is a classic example of the linear zoetrope effect. This is a technique where motion is created using many still images placed in a straight line.

Each image is slightly different from the next, similar to frames in a cartoon. As the train moves past the wall, your eyes catch these images one after another very quickly.

Although the wall itself is completely static, your brain links the images together and interprets them as a moving figure.

This illusion relies strongly on persistence of vision, which means the human eye holds onto an image for a brief moment even after it is gone.

When images change fast enough, this short visual memory causes them to blend together. Instead of seeing separate pictures, the brain perceives a smooth and continuous motion.

Another key element is the slit-scan or shutter effect created by the train window. As the train travels forward, the window briefly exposes and then blocks each image, acting like a mechanical shutter.

This momentary exposure allows each frame to be seen clearly for a split second, preventing motion blur and helping the brain distinguish one frame from the next.

For the illusion to work correctly, the spacing of the images, the speed of the train, and the camera movement must be perfectly synchronized. Together, these factors determine the effective frame rate of the animation.

In this video, the entire scene is digitally created using Blender 3D. The train, the wall, and the running figure are all computer-generated, yet they accurately follow the same optical and perceptual principles as a real linear zoetrope, which is why the motion appears natural and convincing.
