Forces of realms beyond us are powerful beyond our control, beyond our understanding; we simply answer to the call, move into the pull of the portal, release, and become. 👹 Roro Xeno images by @m_mpix from @a__part__art LIVE_01 performance last weekend on Bundjalung Country/Byron Bay. I am still processing these shows {and kinda have to be quick about it coz I’m already deeply inside the next project, plus I have to submit an acquittal for this one pretty soon 😵‍💫🤪} but I will take a moment to again thank my superb little team for helping make it happen - producer Michaela Coventry @sage_arts_australia, production manager/lighting designer/all-round tech witch @redtornado_arts, Mountain collaborator and sound @samsaljooghi, FOH Angel @megstoios, and @jsvisualdiaries of @blancstudiobyronbay for design and support and general awesomeness. NEWS: Wallum Brunswick Heads will feature in a major contemporary visual arts exhibition at the S.H. Ervin Gallery, one of Sydney’s leading public galleries. Holding Ground’ visual arts exhibition, Sydney Opening Sat, 07 Mar running until Sun, 03 May. The exhibition features 10 photographs from Wallum Brunswick Heads. Eight of these images are by photographer Mac Maderski, with two by Mark Seiffert. @macmaderski and @m_mpix One of the exhibition’s hero works is Grandmother Tree - a commanding portrait of a 300-year-old Scribbly Gum, a tree marked for bulldozing if the Wallum development proceeds. “Its inclusion in Holding Ground transforms it into both artwork and testimony.” Curated by Gavin Wilson, Holding Ground brings together paintings, ceramics, sculpture, textiles and photography to examine how artists respond to place, at a time of increasing environmental pressure and social change. @shervingallery @nationaltrustnsw

Ketok, Ora Ketok (Seen, Unseen) had its premiere on Saturday as part of The Golden Thread’s Revelations exhibition @alow_gallery 🩸 out in the carpark, wrapped in the gentle salty caress of a breeze from the nearby ocean under an ominous waxing gibbous moon, I set up an iteration of a wayang kulit (shadow puppet) performance, channeling ancestral and personal trauma in a meditational exorcism; in which I was the puppet and the puppeteer. My rage, our rage; my pain, our pain. A cathartic dredge, an unfolding of the data of the soul reaching back into deep time. Karma and dharma, shadow and light; a story of self and all women. I made this work with a heart weighted by sadness - of the world, of my own. I wore my Mum’s kebaya as a way to wrap myself inside my origin - her womb - the place where I was once safest - and danced through facade and fear until it was time to pass to the next realm. Thank you to everyone who received it all with such beautiful, open hearts; I’m indebted. Thank you @talfitzpatrick @merinda_davies_ for making the exhibition happen, and inviting me to be part of this very special coven. Thank you @bambamgeorge for music operation on the nite.
