World Championships in Montreal 🇨🇦

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to show my best performance. I had been dealing with a cold shortly before the race, which made it difficult to be at 100%. I also missed the important attacks during the race and wasn’t able to make an impact when it mattered. Place 38th in the end.🤷‍♂️

Still, I’m grateful for the experience and proud to have represented Austria on the biggest stage. A lot to learn from and motivation to come back stronger. 🇦🇹💪

Many thanks to @cycling_austria and also @decathloncmacgm_newgen for the support.

A very chaotic race due to the bad weather, which led to the cancellation of the first two stages.

After the 3a flat stage was successfully completed for the team, with a 3rd place for @niklas.wiesmayr , the 3b stage ripped the field apart on the first climb.

I managed to get away on the descent with @seff_vankerckhove , and we pushed all the way to the final climb together. I attacked hard but was just short of dropping him and eventually got beaten in the sprint. Still, a solid 2nd place.

Huge thanks to the whole team for the great teamwork and all the lead-outs 🫡

Next stop: Montréal 🇨🇦🌈

The last stage wasn’t too hard, and we entered the final 2 km with a big group. I attacked hard with 2 km to go, but wasn’t strong enough to make it to the finish and got caught with 600 m to go.

Huge thanks to the whole team for the great teamwork and all the lead-outs 🫡

In the end, we secured 2nd in the GC by just 2 seconds, as well as the team classification. 🥈

European Championship 🇪🇺

Super stoked to take home the silver medal after struggling to recover from the last few races. It was an absolute battle with @elias_hueck for second place. I managed to open a small gap on the final climb and held it all the way to the finish.

Huge congrats to @mathieu.ghibaudo22 on an outstanding performance and to @elias_hueck for an incredible race. 👏🚀

Proud to bring home 🥈🇪🇺
