been shooting concerts as an amateur for years, just trying to get better at merging the technical side with how I actually see things creatively. last night at @nairobirnb @yussefdayes it finally felt like it was coming together, got one continuous shot on a song I love and it was mad fulfilling, especially stacked on top of getting to curate the VVIP room with @flipped_v0 .

also gotta shout out @vennagram , wild getting to be in the same room witnessing greatness.

It’s been a while 👋

Turns out “a while” is about a year and a half. Wasn’t off resting though — talked less, walked more.

Here’s what kept me busy: a Silver at Young Lions Kenya, 9x DMA Awards, 3x Loeries finals, 4x Pitcher Awards — and representing Kenya at the Young Lynx Academy in Dubai, powered by Publicis Groupe.

☀️🪴 what a beautiful journey it’s turned out to be @flipped_v0 so lovely to be in a room filled with the most beautiful black and brown people from all over and experience their warmth in this way. I never dreamt or expected to be involved in music the way I have been in my life and I certainly never thought I’d ever start an event but here we are 😂 learning as we go. So grateful for @karun.i.verse @ma_wira_ @maina_brian ❤️‍🔥 thank you! have a beautiful week friends !

☀️ PSA: i’m curating an event series ! who’d have thought. this is us creating the room we want to be in.

flipped is a slow, saturday social experience. vinyl records, live music, coffee and pastries worth coming early for. showcasing beautifully considered spaces in our cities through food, music and conversation.

if you know me, you know that even before being an artist myself, I love to explore art and beautiful aesthetically considered spaces. now I can’t wait for us to explore together! I particularly love Saturdays and how they feel like a blank canvas for a weekend that could go in so many beautiful ways.

this is a synthesis of my experiences and interests, beautiful moments I have shared with my community in Cape Town and here in Nairobi. And if I exist I know other people with these interests exist too. And importantly people that look like me.
