PROUD.

What a season.

A year that gave us so much to be excited about — plenty of new faces pulling on the brown and gold for the first time, young Hawks taking another big step forward and a group that continued to show just how bright the future is.

We went incredibly close to giving ourselves a shot at another premiership, and while it hurts to fall just short, there’s so much to be proud of.

The fight. The belief. The growth. The moments we’ll remember.

Couldn’t be prouder to support this club.

Thank you for 2026, Hawks.

Bring on 2027. 🤎💛

Footy finals just got real, and there are only two South Sudanese heritage players left standing, both one win away from doing something no one from their community has ever done.

Michael Frederick — Fremantle. The minor premiers were one loss from a straight-sets exit before ruckman Luke Jackson dragged them through an instant classic against Geelong last night, Fremantle grinding out a 14-point semi-final win in front of a club-record crowd at Optus Stadium. That result books Frederick and the Dockers a preliminary final against Sydney at the SCG next week, a club that’s never won it all, chasing a flag alongside a player who could become the first of his community to ever hold one.

Mabior Chol — Hawthorn. Born in South Sudan, raised in Brisbane, Chol is already the most prolific goalkicker of South Sudanese descent in AFL history, but that record isn’t the one that matters now. No player from the South Sudanese community has ever won a premiership. The Hawks blew the finals series apart, smashing minor premiers Fremantle by 32 points in their own qualifying final, and that win banked Chol a home preliminary final at the MCG, also next week, once tonight’s Brisbane-Adelaide semi decides who’s standing in his way.

The last two standing in a race that’s been building for years. Win next week, and one of them walks into a Grand Final with the chance to become the first. Win that, and the wait is over, the first name goes into the history books.

Two players, one shot each — who takes it home? Chol to finally get Hawthorn over the line, or Frederick to write Fremantle’s fairytale? Drop your predictions in the comments below.
