But seriously, how do consumers find more sustainable brands like @mablebrush & @haystraws ?

Emma Grose is the Co-Founder of MABLE & Hay Straws and is #5 in our series of 100 interviews with business leaders making a positive impact on their community!

MABLE and HAY! Straws are both brands focused on designing and manufacturing sustainable products like toothbrushes (both manual and electric toothbrush heads), straws, cutlery, floss, cotton swabs, and stir sticks. What’s even better, both brands have built in community give-back programs so you can feel even better about purchasing these products. We talk about her experiences getting started and the lack of female representation in the venture capital world, the importance of sustainability and community give-back programs, how she found the confidence to be the strong leader she is now, and the difficulties of running sustainably-manufactured brands in today’s volatile world (especially in the United States).

At the end of every episode, I ask the same question: who’s another business and/or leader that you see out there in the world doing things the right way? Who deserves a shout out?

Emma Grose Founder of @mablebrush & @haystraws Kyle Parsons Founder of @indosole Jessica Cichowlas Owner of @byoc_co @intentionalassets Partner and the Director of Sustainable Investing at Earth Equity Advisors, and David Phan Founder of @huppy all gave shout outs to organizations and leaders out there leveraging their work for a more sustainable future in our communties.

Shout out to: @sungaiwatch @a2zero2030 @patagonia Garvin Jabusch & all the zero-waste refill shops out there!

“There’s a rumor that there’s already enough clothing in the world to clothe everybody…we don’t really need to just be pumping out more and more.”

The Capitalism for Good Podcast is 100 interviews with business leaders making a positive impact in their community. Find & follow it wherever you get your podcasts!

P.S. We’re officially HALFWAY THROUGH and celebrating by revisiting all the shout outs we end every episode with. Let’s keep it going!!
