Well someone let the dogs out They'll show you where the truth is The grass is always greener Where the dogs are shitting Oh yeah I like broken things, because broken things have a story. When I was younger (a kid, a teenager, someone who doesn't know any better) I actually cared about having everything kept perfectly and I would have major meltdowns if anything happened to, say, one particular shirt, or bag, or pair of jeans. I can still wear stuff from my teenage years because I kept them in such a pristine way they still look brand new. I guess that was my way of having some kind of power over a reality I couldn't fully grasp and that felt out of my control. Nowadays I honestly don't care. I actually love worn out, distressed stuff even more. My bags, my shoes, I love it when the leather gets scratched, they look better, more interesting. Same for my clothes, I don't really mind if jumpers get tiny holes, if dresses look a little crumpled, if t-shirt are distressed. Safety pins are the best accessory. I guess, at some point, we learn to love the story behind the object more than the object itself. That's why I love thrifting so much, the life of a blazer, a homemade dress, a book, can you imagine anything more fascinating? . . .
