This is my second year working with the ITC Media team, and it’s the second time I’ve walked away from the week so much better than when I started …simply because I spent a week talking to so many smart, friendly people who were happy to share their story and their reason for being in their industry, which is so different from anything I normally do on the social media side of things.

I spent the week with @macadame_jien , who patiently laughed at most of my jokes, and I made a little funny video of us throughout the week — him saying he was experiencing happiness at eleven out of ten, which is just hilarious.

It was a great week with a great team and a great group of people. I just love being around people who think and see the world like me and also not like me, if that makes any sense.

A week interviewing people, a week of learning and a week of swapping stories 🫶🏻🤍

My mother… no routine. No schedule pinned to the fridge. She just played. The same way the sun just comes up. And somehow that taught me more about showing up than any lesson ever could.

From the piano to the stage, the lesson was the same. You prepare, you show up, and then you let go. You follow where the notes take you. Or where the scene takes you. Either way, you stop gripping and start listening.

This Mother’s Day, thank you for teaching me things I didn’t realise I needed to learn.

A Cinematic Journal episode supported by @sterling_jewellers - be inspired like I was by their Tennis Twist Collection.
