HEY HEY SDM 50th⭐️🎭♥️ absolute magic to return to the first place I was treated like a professional actor; a place I became myself, a place of so many firsts... every smell sent me back in time, as did every hug, and every show banner... I sat on my bunk for 15 minutes just marvelling at how it all felt like yesterday, and how I'd give anything to spend a whole summer there again. And there was simply nothing like being back in a Larry Nye Fosse class💃🏻

"Years from now, we'll remember and we'll come back/ Buy the theatre and hang a plaque/ This is where we began being what we can"✨

🩰 𝑴𝑶𝑺𝑨𝑰𝑪 is more than movement, it’s a reflection of identity, courage, and connection.
Created for the Gala of the @adcibc 20th Anniversary, this piece lives in the moments where individuality meets unity.

Each dancer brought their own truth, and together we shaped something raw, honest, and deeply human.
Ben, Emmie, Jack, Julian, Juliet, Kyler, Norah, Olga, Rudie, thank you for your vulnerability, your strength, and your fearless artistry. 🤍

As the curtain rose at the Mahaffey Theater, you didn’t just dance, you told a story that belongs to all of us.

This is your moment.
This is your MOSAIC.

TLDR: Had a super fun time coordinating IT things at the 20th anniversary of ADC|IBC!!!

•••

WOW! What an insane week I just had! It was my older sister’s company’s 20TH anniversary!!! While I’ve been involved in the competition since its origin (because my big sis started it) this was my first year being involved in the whole process full time and boy it was a whirlwind!

From traveling for 7 regional tour cities to transforming my sister’s genius event coordination skills into a seamless digital experience for competitors, parents, coaches, scouts, judges, staff, and viewers. It was an honor to help take ADC to the next level, with our first ever live competition tracking system, bringing ballet into the 21st century technology wise.

Who ever said the arts and STEM don’t mesh 😛

Feels surreal to be coming back to where I came from after 10 long years of higher education. I am now using the skills that education taught me to contribute back to the arts and the family business.

What can I say, I love what I do.

Didn’t get too many pics of me during that week but scroll on to see:
• The Broad family as the whole first line of team members
• The beautiful schedules I made out of lines of code and advanced database management
• Me in action at my IT station where I was available to provide tech support for all the competition affiliates
• Me crocheting my cousin’s 16th birthday present while waiting around
• Me getting not 1 BUT TWO massages for free.99 by an ADC alum
• Anniversary brunch Photo Booth fun with staff
• My amazing outfits for the week
• The on the fly all access passes I copied and laminated when we ran out 🤣
• And family 🫶🏻 including Asher 🐶

LIFE IS GOOD.

Let’s keep the good times rolling y’all.

LIGHTS 🔦 CAMERA 📸 ACTION 🎬

Living life in color these days 🌈
Grateful for the amazing people I’ve been able to enjoy my new life with 🫶🏻

Grateful for the good times for I know they don’t last forever. Or in the great words of Leopold Butters Stotch…

“I like being sad. Cause it means I was really happy. And I had something great enough to be sad about.”

Going to be continuing to live in the moment and living everyday in color

✨ Communication is the essence of every performance! ✨
In this captivating moment from 𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗨𝗠, the dancers from Trainees1 @thewashingtonballet, @trainees_of_twb, @thewashingtonschoolofballet beautifully bring to life the intricate choreography I crafted for them. Their ability to convey emotions through movement showcases the profound impact of communication in dance.
Each line, every gesture, and subtle nuance invites us to connect, feel, and understand the narrative unfolding before us. It serves as a reminder that authentic expression is rooted not only in skill but also in a deep awareness of the moment and the message.
In a world filled with distractions, let us celebrate the power of meaningful communication—whether through dance, words, or any other medium of expression. 🌟💬

So many people to thank.

There’s still more that I couldn’t manage to snag a photo with. The fact that @wildwhilewes made it in here is hilarious because I actually saw him for exactly two seconds. For those of you I missed: you know who you are. I love you *cough cough* @mariansings04 *cough*

P.s For the people that DID make it in this post, I’m sorry that a couple of your heads are cut off. Namely @msawyer40 . Sorry
