No plans, just sunshine and a spontaneous escape to Cambridge. ☀️🤍

Slow strolls through charming streets, the dreamiest summer weather, lunch at Maccaruna (because their pasta never disappoints 🍝), a sweet stop at Amorino for gelato, and, of course, a Blank Street coffee to end the day perfectly.

Tucked away in Cambridge, Maccaruna is the kind of place where you can actually watch your pasta being made before it reaches your plate. From the open kitchen to the steaming bowls of fresh pasta, everything felt warm, authentic and full of flavour.

Organic flour, free range eggs and recipes that clearly know what they are doing. Every bite was comforting, rich and honestly so delicious. And of course I had to finish with something sweet.

If you love proper fresh pasta, this spot is definitely worth a visit. 🍝✨

right let me tell you something …

INVITE | if i told you i don’t like anything that comes in a specifically round cardboard container, is that weird? 😂

i was making my way into cambridge for a launch party when i received a message from these guys though so i came through!

and i am so SO glad i did. these 2 fresh pasta pots were absolutely delicious.

i went for the gnocchi with aubergine and tomato and it blew me away. not only was the gnocchi melt in the mouth, but the amount of flavour packed into that sauce was unreal. it tasted so authentic. this was my absolute favourite!

then i had to try the sicilian pesto pasta which again was beautifully made, al dente, and honestly so much better than some of the pasta i’ve eaten in fancy italian restaurants 🫤

the pasta is made daily with sicilian flour which again, really impressed me and they made it so fast since it was all fresh ingredients. can’t recommend this place enough for a lovely takeaway or sit in lunch. i know if i worked in cambridge this would be my go-to office lunch!!

so this is a sign to just try new things that you usually wouldn’t go for because they might just blow you away …

i may just need to go back to italy hmmm

We used to be all about fancy dinners out, but after a busy day with the littles, the dinner we now crave most is one in a relaxed environment so they can be a little wild and messy. And ideally one with pasta on the menu as we know they’ll leave with full bellies!🍝

@maccaruna is the perfect quick dinner spot for us. Fresh pasta with homemade sauces, cooked right in front of us and @aromicaffe gelato for pudding. A total win and empty bowls all round!

🍝 Maccaruna 🍝

You guys were VERY keen on this in stories so here’s a proper grid post to let you know that the Cambridge treasure @aromicaffe has a sister restaurant just next door @maccaruna serving up fresh Italian pasta (and their famous gelato) every day! You can eat in or takeaway and they even have high chairs if you want to bring your little ones along. The pasta is sooo good - a generous portion of proper al dente, salty, rich Italian goodness for under £10! I would be lying if I said I haven’t thought about that carbonara almost daily for two weeks now 😂

If you’re a pasta fan, it’s definitely one to check out for that quick lunch or after work bite to eat 🙌🏼

I’ve been seeing this spot all over my social media so I had to put it to test, IS IT INCREDIBLE OR IS IT FORGETFUL? 👌

The arribbiata was so good, great flavours and a subtle spice. The carbonara was very cheesy and creamy, but with a lovely flavour.
