Little bit of progress for node 2, starting a diff project stay tuned

This is what I get for putting effort into editing the reel

first real drone detection test for SPECTRUM SEALS node 2: HackRF plugged in, 5.8 GHz antenna on, Meteor75 props “off”, and the Python detector running from PowerShell(my dumbass forgot a keyboard for my pi and I cant ssh into it...). no-drone baseline stayed clean at 0 events, then once I powered on the Meteor75 with the controller off, the dashboard picked up the 5.8 GHz FPV VTX cluster and logged a passive detection event. so the pipeline actually worked — baseline, sweep, FPV channel scoring, detection, log — but the range is absolute garbage right now. turns out size doesn’t matter unless we’re talking detection range, because this thing currently needs the drone close enough to ask the antenna what its intentions are 💀 next step is better 5.8 antenna, gain tuning, VTX power check, and cluster tracking so SPECTRUM SEALS can move past “cool tactical screen” into actual field-node behavior.#drone #rfengineering

Copying @dz_az02 with the dual screen setup cause why not 😭 quick context tho: the pi does run the RTL-SDR setup, that part already worked. I’m just traveling rn and not on my normal network, so I’m working through the annoying connection/headless access errors instead of pretending it’s all clean. for tonight I plugged the NESDR into my laptop and used it as a temporary node 2 console so I could keep building the live RF dashboard with real rtl_power data. also my dumbass forgot to show that you can zoom into the waterfall and inspect the hits closer 💀 tomorrow I’ll fix the pi connection side properly, but the RF data is real and the dashboard is moving.

Changed my laptop battery today and that shit took fuckin forever. After that I got back on Spectrum Seals and actually made progress. Pi 5 core is still running, Docker stack is alive, MQTT and Node-RED are working, and I got the ESP32-S3 talking to the Pi over UART. Started building Ghost Seal too, which is basically my own ESP32 firmware for the project instead of using stock GhostESP because I don’t want random AP/transmit behavior unless I tell it to. It’s messy as hell right now and tomorrow is gonna be a cleanup day, but it works. Node-RED can send commands, the Pi bridge passes them through, and the ESP32 responds. Tired as hell but we moved.

POV you have to leave your computer unattended while you are sshed into the pi to flash it with cool shit

Met some really cool people today, sadly there was allot of salesmen it was hard to find the nerds to talk too. Ofc my LinkedIn wasn’t working so I need a figure that out. Idk if I should go to day 2 or not. For the first time in my life a person who I met in person knows what things like Rangar and a pwnagatchi are which is really cool

Learning a thing or two, learning LTspice to simulate the power so I can ensure the components don’t crash, learning python with the farmer was replaced it was recommended to me by a computer engineer at the airport a few months ago, gotta get the power point and sims done before the 18th and 19th for a large networking event

Took a system that used to be trapped inside MATLAB and rebuilt the whole thing in Python — simulated RF, simulated drones, simulated WiFi/BLE intel, and a swarm of ESP32s. No toolboxes. No training wheels. Just me getting my ass kicked by code until it finally tapped out.
And honestly… half this journey was just me realizing MATLAB was kicking my ass because it’s a never, ind my digital footprint is bad enough don’t need to add to it.
But now it’s real. Python pipeline. Simulated RF. MQTT behaving (mostly). Wardriving mode. Drone detection.
Next stop: A Tech Expo on May 18 to show this thing off in the wild. After that, we’re going for DoD, DOJ, and DoH grants to take Spectrum Seal from “cool prototype” to “actual deployed capability.”
Turning invisible signals into intelligence. That’s the mission. #hacktheplanet

I know this looks simple and now that I kinda know what is going on it is. I spent so long trouble shooting and the reson it wouldn't work is because I was on the demo account... , these don't really mean anything I just wanted to get comfortable with it. I am going to lock in on project SEALS the whole thing will be simulated before parts are purchased.

Hehe I love my USB Swiss Army Knife, thank you @dz_az02 for showing me this a long time ago. Badusb's are what got me into this space with my 8th grade teacher teaching me how to use a raspberry pi pico to change peoples key boards to arabic, he even helped me rickroll another teacher. My favorite part of this project is I deployed the attack via wifi, the usb dongle was plugged in but I could choose when to run it. I need to add some more delays to get the spelling bugs out but it worked pretty well. The anttenna I have attached is the size of my forearm. The link to the Hackers manifesto is here: https://archive.org/stream/The_Conscience_of_a_Hacker/hackersmanifesto.txt , thank you to @macdaddyhat for introducing me to the hackers manifesto. Idk felt like sharing so I did, fun times.
