#movementstreak DAY 300!! #weightlossjourney month 3, week 3. Well, that’s a #milestone I hadn’t entirely planned upon. There have been a couple of #startstops on this brief journey, but I get and have got the #streakbug like @ultra_run_matelot & @macdiver5 have long since held, and look forward to smashing through the year streak… only 65 days to go for that.

Cracking run, cold at the top of the hill, but as we headed down, felt like the legs really opened up. Likely only a small 5K for day 301, but loving this journey!!

It’s Friday, it’s also April, and the lovely ball of fire in the sky yesterday, clearly over did it, and has taken a break again. That said, was a lovely trot on the tundra!

Day 5 running, nothing to write home about, but just enjoying going out. Pace was generally 10-12 minute miles. When I got some vague tempo up I was in the 7-8 minute zone - which, despite it not being the aim presently, is nice to know I’ve still got it, should I need to engage more.

Weekend is here, an important birthday, and a free weekend to do whatever. Bliss!

Have a cracking weekend, and see y’all whenever!

I'm a serious runner 🙌👌

🏃‍♀️ I take silly jumping selfies (pic 1)

🏃‍♀️ I play traffic cone trumpet (pic 2) #trafficconesofinstagram

🏃‍♀️ I take ALL the selfies (don't even ask how many I rejected to come up with this select bunch 🤦‍♀️) 👌🤳 #selfiewanker

🏃‍♀️ I cock about hanging upside down in a tree for a challenge (pic 5) #challengewanker

🏃‍♀️ I wear all the colours #allthecolours #colourmatchwanker and I run with llamas on my arse 🦙😍 #nodramallamarunners

🏃‍♀️ I walk. Often. Because it's hilly, because my legs are tired, because there's mud up to my ankles (pic 9). Or just because I want to 🤷‍♀️

I don't...

❎ Wear black (unless it's got a loud pattern on it or it's a base layer)

❎ Give a fuck about speed or get motivated by PBs

❎ Give a fuck about what other people think about how I run

If you run, you're a runner. And anyone who wants to belittle your achievements (and mine include multiple halfs, marathons and ultramarathons including 110k The Wall) simply because you don't fit the mould they think a runner should can get in the fucking bin 🤷‍♀️

They can DEFINITELY get in the fucking bin when this results in bullying a young girl who loves running, but also loves colourful leggings and isn't fast enough to earn their respect (still fucking faster than me though!) #bemorepips #wearwhatyouwant

Actually, who wants to be a serious runner, if that's the definition? I'll be a silly, imbecilic, neon bright slow runner who's having masses of fun over being a black kit ninja speed demon with no photos thanks* 🤷‍♀️🙌

*If you're a black kit ninja speed demon with no photos I'll still be cheering on your achievements and your right to do it your way. There's plenty of room for all of us 😘🙌 #respectdifference #ifyourunyourearunner

You don't have to get your clothes off to have a good time...

But when you're hot, giving no shits about getting your wobbly 50 year old belly out and flinging your top off definitely makes you feel better 🙌🙌🙌

Even when that top is a particularly fabulous one off from @werunbright that coordinates perfectly with your skort... 🤩👌

And then, when you discover how beautifully soft underfoot the riverside trail is, flinging those shoes off to #freethefeet for #barefootthursday is the icing on the cake 👣👣👣

It's been so long since I ran barefoot that I'd forgotten how lovely it feels. I'm not leaving it so long again!

Don't worry about watching the reel to the end, the rest of my clothes stayed on! 🤣🤣🤣

It's not 5k, but it's barefoot running and the surface was perfection to run on! 👣👣👣

Just wish I'd brought a change of clothes and I'd have been straight in the sea! 🌊🌊🌊

Thanks @everyruncountsuk for setting the perfect weekend photo challenge and inspiring me to get out and run in such a beautiful location 😍😍😍👌👌👌

@barefootcrew5k day. Weather has improved exponentially. Nice sun, not too hot, lovely breeze and some dampness amongst the toes. Perfect!

Worked hard for the #zone2 today, as it could be a harder pushing day tomorrow. Tried some @barefoot_bogey #backwardsrunning to keep things fresh!

Being that I have more time in this #slowtogofast training: I thought a lot about #nasalbreathing. @jacko.david.jackson see the vid mate, but #breatheright nasal strips: can these aid nasal breathing??

@the.barefootathlete #strengthtraining. Nice session, though on the single leg elevated bridge Shadow thought it a fun game to add weight to the exercise… can’t deny the cuteness!!

Thistle pic is in here as I have one of their thorns in the ball of the foot, which I’ll be damned if I (mainly my wife), can get the bugger out!! Be careful out there #barefooters!!

Laters!! 🦶💪🤙

FINALLY flung those shoes off, freed the feet and ran barefoot! 👣👣👣 #barefootcrew5k

Slightly cheaty barefoot 5k admittedly, as I started in my vibrams only losing them for the last 1.5k but it's been several months since I did this, the ground is hard, and I didn't want to run round and round the golf course and get sworn at by golfers so this was the compromise 🤷‍♀️

And I loved it! I'd forgotten how ace it feels to feel the ground under my bare feet and I mustn't forget or leave it so long next time! 😍😍😍

Obvs I had the perfect outfit 🤷‍♀️

A triumph of FOMO and peer pressure over laziness and the sofa magnet 👣👣👣

This wasn't going to happen today. Even Garmin told me to rest 🤷‍♀️. And afternoon cocktails isn't the best starting point for a run (bloody delicious though!) 🍸🍸🍸

Then @thehappyrunnernw tagged me in her #barefootcrew5k reel, going on about the first one of the year and I was sucked right in...

It wasn't 5k, but it WAS the first on tarmac, and I knew my confidence has grown when I wasn't even bothered that I couldn't properly see what was underfoot. First 500m or so and it felt a bit uncomfortable but then I got into it. 1k done, which is what I planned, and actually I would have stuck it out a bit longer if I didn't need to finish cooking dinner.

So thanks is due Vic, for the inspiration 😘

More next week! 👣👣👣🙌🙌🙌

@barefootcrew5k day, as it is every Thursday. Nothing massive for me. 4 #barefoot miles and a chat with the trainer of the gallops I’ve been running recently… may need @thehappyrunnernw & @run.graham.run to come and check it out for June’s madness… anyhow, run was fun and relaxed.

Some #strengthandconditioning with my @mirafitofficial kit… couple of ones likely needing some correction… 1. Wanted to try a pull up with a 10kg weight… shoddy. 2. Reverse to forward kettlebell lunges - really works the core. 3. Alternating DB Bench press… all pretty good, but I’m feeling like I need more weight on many of them… anyhow; the work continues!

Also, as I got back to the car; saw this (assuming) kestrel not some 5m from my head hovering. Couldn’t not get a vid.

Right, I’m outta here… #stayhardboiled 🦶💪🤙

Out of office on ✅

Fling those shoes OFF 👣👣👣✅

Mobilise the #matchymatchy A game 👌✅

Fire up the scary audiobook ✅

Run that #barefoot5k through the squelchy mud by the river in the dark in 4° in December ✅

And for good measure fling your top off for the final km ✅

Shout FUCK and nearly shit yourself when you get scared half to death by a couple of howling monsters with piercing glow in the dark eyes 😱😱😱✅

Wind down your overactive imagination when you realise they're a couple of soft spaniels 🤦‍♀️🐶🐶✅

It's Christmas! 🎅🎄🌟

Now to drive home, pour a big drink and pump out the Christmas tunes 🎶🎶🎶

Week 90 of the @barefootcrew5k, and at least here in the UK it was bloody freezing! But, you all got out and tried some #coldexposure of the feet!

First off, an apology to @dr.charlesm, a number of weeks ago he went out on a barefoot adventure and we didn’t see the post. Apologies Sir we shall do our best not to miss a post again.

As for the rest of your adventures, @barfuss_am_berg has been in the mountains again. @trafficconellama tackled 500 meters in the frost, as well as @ben_barefootuk, @a.travelling.ant, @runsfromthemiddleofsomewhere we also had a new runner in @stephanusavis. Great work everyone!!

We think it’s likely another cold one this week, let’s see how brave we all are… see you out there Thursday!
