So here is final comedy reel from Reelarc. In this scene with the hilarious Mac Duffy I play the Board director of a vampiric home owners association. My character is interrogating the nebbish thrall (Mac) of a 1000 year old home owner about certain impropriety violations that the latter is engaging in.

2 of the most powerful actors I have had the privilege of directing faced off in a tense legal drama today. @that.juju.alexander and @johncicornio had such a deep understanding our their characters and motivation, there was an electricity on set. They each could be the lead of their own show tomorrow and it would be must see TV. Thanks, as always, to the incredible artists who make our actors look and sound great. DP @thestevencschmidt , sound engineer @prod.bysg and PA @appleboxagency .

“You shouldn’t have to do it alone.”
When love collides with something darker, the truth cuts deeper than any secret.
We’re letting the color tell the story here - dreamlike, dangerous, and dripping with supernatural energy.

We all cried and cried this weekend. And that was the goal!

It’s challenging when an actor has to access intense emotions over and over again, take after take. You want to stay true to the character and the text, but you also don’t want to feel destroyed at the end of the day.

I was very fortunate to get to participate in this wonderful workshop taught by Sarah Victoria of @pem.acting . She is an incredibly talented actress and a master instructor who teaches the PEM method, a safe and incredibly effective way to consistently access emotions. Sarah is very insightful, she cares deeply about her students, and her obvious passion for the craft makes it easy to immediately feel safe and begin to incorporate the steps necessary to move past any blocks that might be preventing you from getting “there.”

I highly recommend you work with Sarah at your earliest opportunity! The added bonus is you get to meet and work with actors who want to improve their craft just as much as you. Thanks to Sarah and all these great artists for an incredible experience!

This was such a fascinating experience this week, directing these two talented actors. They dropped in so completely to the scene that it evolved into an even deeper intensity and meaning than anticipated. As an actor myself, I know how thrilling that is, and it is even more so as a director. Keep an eye out for these two. Josiah Janes @josiuh and Haley Dale @halesdale . I’m looking forward to seeing where they go.

And I want to thank these talented artists for capturing this awesome experience and making it all look and sound great:
DP: @stevencschmidt
Sound: @prod.bysg
PA: @appleboxagency
And everyone at @reelarc who helped make this happen.

What an incredible way to wrap up an already incredible week! Dub-School Day 5 is done. 4 years of college didn’t make me feel even 25% as ready to thrive in an industry as these 5 days have done.

But the best part is the people I met, truly kind and supportive people who are masters of their craft and love what they do. Lunch time in the dining area was a secret super bonus this week. I am grateful I had the additional privilege to meet and talk with so many wonderful actors, directors, engineers and other terrific artists that grace this studio. Dubbing Brothers, by all the accounts I heard, is a wonderful place to work. It really is a positive testament to the true heart of a company when it can bring so many wonderful people together. And my fellow Dub-Schoolers are no exception, you’ll be hearing all of us soon, including two new talents I enjoyed meeting and performing with today: @nathalieacts and @noah_greenspan .

We were guided by another Dub-School fave, Ezra Weisz ( @ezraweisz )- brilliant actor, director, teacher and so much more. His insightful direction helped me further sharpen my skills and achieve an even deeper level of grounded nuance in my performances. Ezra tells it to you straight, but he also is sincerely encouraging and rooting for you. And he tied together everything we learned this week in a way that felt like a launching pad was placed under my feet. By the 4th day, I was already feeling super optimistic. But now I feel this wonderful confidence and a sincere excitement about my next steps!

Thanks, again, @dub_school_los_angeles and @dubbing_brothers_usa for such an invigorating experience. I look forward to seeing and working with you all again soon!

Day 4! Dub-School’s commitment to getting their students ready and able to work is incredible. I knew I’d get to meet and learn many actual working professionals this week. But the depth and specificity of the training and the degree to which these directors love actors, and are always looking for new voices, is beyond what I expected. It’s fantastic!

Today, we were given yet another gift in the form of phenomenal Actress and Director, @claudiaziezie ! In addition to the incredible training we received, Claudia gave us a deeper insight into the specific studios and people in the dubbing world who do the hiring, as well as detailed instruction on how best to reach out to them. Thanks, Claudia!

As always, we had the continuing good fortune of top-notch engineer @rayne.beckman at the controls. And another student shout out: the talented voice actor, Tim Fannon (@fanooski ), joined us today!

Actors, if you’re wondering whether to check into @dub_school_los_angeles , I can say, without reservation, it is completely worth the investment. And we still have one more day! Can’t wait!

More tomorrow!
