Waking up this morning still in disbelief that my girl is 17. When did this happen?

Anyone who has ever crossed paths with her knows what a gift she is. Her smile lights up a room and you can feel her kindness and compassion by just being near her. But she also has an aggressive, competitive spirit that sometimes shocks me when it comes out on the field. When she believes in something, she believes fiercely and will move mountains to make things happen that are important to her.

I sometimes ask myself, why me? Why did God bless me with the incredible gift of being her mom? Whatever the reason, I feel like the luckiest person in the world because she is the most beautiful spirit I’ve ever encountered.

Happy birthday my sweet girl! Love you!!!!
