Brad MacIver @maciverhall, the artist whose painting we chose for our group show’s invitation, has this to say about peace…’When choosing a few works to represent the theme of “peace” I realized that most of my paintings actually speak in some way to that concept. In my still-life, portraiture and landscape work there seems to be an underlying feeling of stillness and quiet, a mood that’s often remarked upon by observers. Also, the painting process itself is for me a deeply peaceful one, and one which easily dispatches, at least for a short while, the clatter of a noisy world’. Brad’s paintings will be on view all month, with the rest of our artists. *The first two you see here are already sold* @lagomdesignshops #creemoreontario #creemoreartists #peace

We had a lovely treat yesterday here in Creemore, ON. After a wonderful scenic drive from Ottawa, we stopped in to celebrate Brad MacIver’s / @maciverhall premier art show. In addition to being Jennifer’s uncle, Brad is a super-talented painter. With his roots in editorial design and art direction, Brad’s work is graphic and detailed, and beautifully captures light and atmosphere.

We loved Brad’s florals, his architectural studies, his landscapes and of course the portraits of his dogs! His paintings exude an organic calmness while capturing a sense of intentional design. (again, such a treat!)

Thanks, Laurie and Pere for your kind hospitality. We sure love your new gallery!
@lagomdesignshops

And super nice curation, Liz!
(it was like seeing several collections combined into one)

(If you’re in the Creemore area, Brad’s work will be up until November 30th.)

Painter Brad MacIver’s wistful landscapes and crisp still lifes reveal a knack for the kind of formal composition that settles the eye and encourages a viewer to luxuriate in the subject matter.

This instinct comes naturally to the Mulmur artist after a career working as an art director for magazines including Fashion and Gardening Life.

Brad’s work has an Alex Colville-esque hazy, yet precise, take on everything from beloved pets to a patch of summer sunflowers at their peak.
