one whole month since I married my best friend.

it’s hard to put this day into words.

as a little girl i had always dreamed of my wedding day. what would i look like? who would i be marrying? where would it be? and so on.

but what i never dreamed of was how i would feel, and more specifically how would that person make me feel.

well mackenzie, you made me feel so seen, special, & loved in ways i never thought possible. our wedding day was beyond my wildest dreams because i got to say ‘I do’ to you.

like i said at the end of my vows,

“every day I wake up and roll over and the first thing I say is “I love you, you’re my best friend.”

and while I know you think I talk sometimes just to talk, I don’t say it just to say it.

I say it because I fear that there ever will be a day that I can’t roll over and say it to you anymore.

and so each day that I have the privilege of waking up and saying those 7 words to you is the new best day of my life.

I promise to love you until the lights go out.”
