Happy Thank a Resident Day 2026 👏
In Otolaryngology, our residents are the steady hands in the OR, the thoughtful voices in clinic, and the ones answering the late night airway consults without hesitation.
They care for ears, noses, throats and so much more with grit, heart, and excellence.
Today we say thank you for all that you do 🤍

Mack took our research beyond the hospital and all the way to Puerto Rico 🌴🔬
He recently attended the Association for Research in Otolaryngology (ARO) Conference, connecting with leaders in the field and learning about the latest breakthroughs in hearing, balance, and ENT science.
We love seeing our team represent University of Utah Health, Otolaryngology-HNS on a national stage and bring back fresh ideas to keep pushing our work forward.
Way to go, Mack! 👏✨

The Park Lab is a unique, truly translational bench to bedside program dedicated to treat cytomegalovirus (CMV). The clinical branch is focused on the role of valganciclovir for congenitally infected (cCMV) infants with isolated sensorineural hearing loss. We are conducting an NIH funded multi-institutional clinical trial to address this question (ValEAR CMV trial). Our laboratory is particularly interested in understanding the mechanisms underlying CMV induced hearing loss. #hearingloss #cmv #medicalresearch #helenkeller #elevatingexcellence #otology

Our Utah Society of Otolaryngology meeting was a great success! 👏 A special thank you to our guest speaker, Dr. Greg Davis for joining us and delivering an excellent lecture at both USO and Grand Rounds. We’re grateful he was able to make the trip, and appreciate Dr. Jeremiah Alt for showing him around Utah during his visit.
We also extend our sincere thanks to our exhibitors for supporting this event, we couldn’t do it without you! Thank you as well to the Ken Garff University Club at Rice-Eccles Stadium for hosting us in such a great venue. And a fun shoutout to Hatch Family Chocolates for creating nose-shaped chocolates to keep our Rhinology theme going! 🍫👃#guestspeaker #rhinology #otolaryngologist #lecture #letsgettogether
