Measurements & health checkup for the tapir ✅

After 3 months of residence at RAREC, our team performed a health checkup and took body measurements of the tapir. She was brought to us with bullet wounds to her face after her mother was killed by hunters, which led to disfigurement and some difficulty eating. Now, all signs are positive as she continues to recover well from her injuries.

This is an example of the hands-on experiences available to our veterinary students at RAREC. We believe that education is key to helping foster the next generation of conservationists.

A special thank you to @wildlifeworldzoo for funding the construction of a new enclosure for our tapir! We look forward to seeing her roam a larger space in the near future.

Day 2 in the books! Thank you for showing up and spending your Friday night with us. 👏 There's more activities planned all weekend long.

The Platte River Cruise Night has grown from a weekend event to a five-day celebration. Saturday’s (7/9) car show should feature more than 200 vehicles. The show, held across from Double Dips, has competitive divisions for motorcycles as well as custom, rat-rod, stock, vintage stock, vintage custom and lifted 4-by-4 vehicles.

Don't forget to stop by Venue304 for the Rockabilly Pin Up Competition. The competition starts at 10a. The weekend ends with a pancake feed, car swap and kids cruise on Sunday.

New to North Platte? We're so glad to have you! 👋

Double Dips Ice Creamery is located in the Historic Canteen District in Downtown North Platte. Our city is home to Buffalo Bill. We've been blessed with tons of great options for anyone looking to have fun, eat or shop.

From great outdoor activities, and drinking locally crafted beverages, to exploring the area’s unique history you’ll find something for everyone in North Platte.

We can't wait to see you! ❤️
