Happy National Dance Day, y’all! 🤍🌵

At BOOT, we believe dance is about more than what happens on stage. It’s about the people we meet, the stories we share, and the community we build along the way.

Looking back on Break-In Dance Fest, we’re reminded of exactly why BOOT exists: to create opportunities for Texas dance artists to grow, connect, and share their work with the world.

Emmy x Macy, Apply Pressure and Wait

This is the first time we’ve set one of our duets on another pair and man oh man did these two deliver.

It feels so good to see a work change hands. Choreography lives in its doing. Hopefully, many generations and iterations of the things we love get to be danced. We’re stoked to help direct the pathways by which others can come to dance more. We get to make things, and pass them on, and isn’t that what our physical history is really about? The moving is never done. And what a glorious thing that is.

Ems and Mace— We adore you and are so thrilled you said yes to performing Apply Pressure. Thank you for your work ethic, artistry, and commitment.

J— Thank you for setting this entire dance and running rehearsals and managing tech and taking care of a neonatal cat at the same time. You are next level ❤️

Jessie and the BOOT Squad — Congratulations on a successful second year of Break-In. We loved working with you. The communication and organizational aspects of this engagement were particularly spot on.

It’s Opening Night! 🤎⭐️

After months of planning, rehearsals, late nights, and a whole lot of heart, Break-In Dance Fest officially opens tonight! 🎟️

What started as an idea to create more opportunities for Texas dance artists has grown into a festival featuring 9 original works, 12 choreographers, 26 performers, 2 incredible volunteers, and a rockstar stage manager, all working together to bring this performance to life!

Whether you are joining us tonight, tomorrow or cheering on from afar, thank you for being part of this. See y’all at 7PM at The MATCH. Texas dance is ready!
