‘Twas the night before school starts and all through the schoolhouse, all the guides had worked hard until they could work no more. Now the children must arrive and fill the place with joy.

This event began five years ago with some of our students having the idea to do a Jogathon so they could afford to get a giant bounce house waterslide at the end of the school year. Five years later, it has grown into one of our favorite traditions and biggest FUNdraisers. The energy from all of the Eagles was vibrant and kind throughout the whole event. And the parents did a fantastic job cheering them on and some even joined in the running! It is sweet to do life in community with all these amazing people.

School is about so much more than academics. 🎄✨
In our middle and high school, we believe marking moments matters, even as learners get older. Celebrations like this bring us closer, build belonging, and remind us that the value of school goes far beyond a grade or a test.

What a beautiful night of wonder. Our Eagles gathered for our first Star Party and spent the evening exploring constellations, learning how to use telescopes, and soaking in the quiet magic of the night sky. Moments like these remind us how much joy there is in slowing down, looking up, and discovering together.

A warm thank you to OU Lunar Sooners for sharing their expertise and equipment with our community. Your partnership made the night unforgettable.

And thank you to our families for joining us. Nights like this make our community shine. 🌟

When learners lead, magic happens. This week wale had our exhibitions of learning for all ages K-12

From geodes and geology in Spark Studio (5-7yrs) to budding entrepreneurs in Discovery (7-11 yrs), immersive art auctions in Navigation (Middle School), and Launchpad Eagles (High School) transforming their studio into a hands-on classroom where parents became the students—yesterday’s Exhibitions of Learning were a celebration of curiosity, creativity, and growth. Thank you, families, for cheering on these courageous young heroes as they share their journeys. It is our favorite demonstration of learning and growth around here.

🎉 A Milestone Moment: Evergreen’s Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony 🎉

Last week, we celebrated a monumental milestone in Evergreen’s journey—the official ribbon-cutting of our new building! Our cofounder delivered an inspiring speech, expressing deep gratitude to everyone who made this dream a reality.

She began by thanking @armstrong_bank , our generous event sponsor, whose support was instrumental in bringing this celebration to life. She also extended heartfelt appreciation to our incredible Eagle parents, dedicated families, and steadfast friends whose unwavering belief in our mission has propelled us forward.

A special tribute was paid to Brett and Tina Adkins, the visionary developers of the @selahokliving community. Their commitment and craftsmanship transformed our vision into a tangible space where learning and growth flourish.

This ceremony wasn’t just about cutting a ribbon; it symbolized the opening of new doors, opportunities, and the beginning of an exciting chapter for Evergreen.

Our Eagles Took on the Role of Medical Investigators!

For the past six weeks, our middle and high school Eagles dove deep into the world of medical biology—studying body systems, researching diseases, crafting professional medical research funding pitches, and analyzing diagnostic tools.

Their learning culminated in an interactive, gamified exhibition where parents stepped into the role of patients with mysterious symptoms. Eagles worked in diagnostic teams, using their research and critical thinking skills to identify the illness and recommend next steps.

From detailed displays to real-world problem solving, their work was nothing short of inspiring. We are so proud of the effort, excellence, and heart they brought to this journey!

Learning by Doing: A Hands-On Heart Model Experiment!

Today, our learners took science to the next level by building a model heart! This hands-on experiment gave them a visual and interactive way to understand how the heart’s chambers empty and pump blood through the body. While watching a video or reading about the circulatory system is helpful, experiencing it firsthand—together, in community—makes the learning truly come to life.

🎄✨ COME EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS 🎶🎁
A FREE CHRISTMAS MUSICAL EVENT THIS WEEKEND

📣 Message from our student director and playwright:

This Saturday, Dec. 14 🎅, Evergreen will present its first-ever Christmas musical: Searching for Christmas.

🎭 Over the past few months, our Eagles have been hard at work rehearsing this student-written and directed production. Now you have a chance to see it! Admission is FREE! 🆓 The performance will take place at First Baptist Church Norman at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary (📍211 W Comanche St., Norman, OK 73069).

🎶 Here’s a brief description of what the show is about:

🎄 Sarah is losing her Christmas cheer.
All 12-year-old Sarah wants for Christmas is a Nintendo 🎮, and she knows just the person to ask: Santa Claus! 🎅 But bullying from kids in her neighborhood and the challenges of growing up have caused her to question the true meaning of Christmas. With the help of Santa’s head elf 🧝‍♂️ and a close friend 🤝, Sarah just might rediscover what Christmas is all about.

📢 Please like 👍, comment 💬, and share 🔄 this post to help us spread the word. We’d love to see you there! 🎉
