🎶 What a special evening of Jazz in the Garden, on Thursday…even if Mother Nature had other plans for us!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣Due to heavy rain, Thursday’s concert moved indoors to the Nyack Center, where we gathered for a heartfelt musical homage to John D. Anthony, celebrating his life and legacy through the music and community he loved so deeply.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣Our sincere thanks to Jayon Anthony, Marya Lawrence, Erik Lawrence, Jim West, Wyn Avillas, Gary Foote, and Hasan Bakr for sharing their incredible talent and making this such a meaningful evening.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣The performance was also held in loving memory of Jon Kev Jones, beloved husband of Jayon Anthony. 💛⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣A special thank you to our staff, trustees, and volunteers who jumped into action to make the move indoors possible, hauling equipment and supplies through the pouring rain. We’re so grateful for the teamwork and positive spirit that kept the evening going.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣Thank you to the Nyack Center for welcoming us, and to everyone who braved the rain to join us for this beautiful night of music and remembrance.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣📸 Thank you to Ben Asen and Sophie Fenwick for sharing photographs and videos from the evening.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣✨ Jazz in the Garden concludes Thursday, August 27, with our Season Finale Gala, featuring a special Birthday Tribute to legendary bassist Cameron Brown and Cameron Brown and Dannie’s Calypso.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣Tickets at the Jazz link in our bio or visit edwardhopperhouse.org.⁣⁣ ⁣
