POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Yesterday was my last day at LQ after 5 incredible years. This job took me from Seattle to Miami, to Montreal, Bologna, and Paris and so many bookstores (and convention centers) in between. The books we made together are incredible, but the people I’ve befriended along the way are even better. I’m starting an exciting new opportunity as a literary scout at Maria Campbell Associates, but I’ll never forget the best first job out of college any book lover could ask for. (Ps @dirtbagqueer & @abbywhitewrites we need photos together)

“Ah, world, what lessons you prepare for us,
even in the leafless winter,
even in the ashy city.
I am thinking now
of grief, and of getting past it;

I feel my boots
trying to leave the ground,
I feel my heart
pumping hard. I want

to think again of dangerous and noble things.
I want to be light and frolicsome.
I want to be improbable beautiful and afraid of nothing,
as though I had wings.”
— “Starlings in Winter,” Mary Oliver

What she wanted VS what she got🤩she wanted the versatility of wearing the braids down and up. How'd I do? Drop comments below and if there's any style you want to try DM for inquiries. Never wore braids before but want to try something new? Let's do it! Braids styles can be done with or without extensions.

#TheLastCuentista is a dystopian interstellar journey—through space and time—to the very heart of what makes us human. Petra Peña wakes to a new planet — and discovers that she is the only person who remembers Earth. Petra is the only one who carries the stores of the past. Can she make them live again?

The #BigBookEnergy is strong. Our friend, David Bowles raved: “This book is going to blow people's minds. It matters."

With 4 Starred Reviews, #TheLastCuentista was named Best Book of the Year by Publishers Weekly, School Library Journal, Kirkus and BookPage.
