This summer was nothing less than memorable.

I always tell people- my first summer out of the hospital was spent recovering, the next summer was for healing, and this summer was for living.
Last summer, I had a bad episode of depression and my trauma was hanging over me. I was just in a hole and as much as I clawed my way out of it, I always fell back down. Things just kept happening and it felt like I couldn’t catch a break.

But this summer. This summer I chose myself. I looked to experiences to fulfill my days. Jordan and I celebrated six years together. I vacationed in the Midwest and got quality time with family and see my beautiful cousin get married. I attended concerts, spent tons of quality time with friends and family, and even joined a book club. I read over 20 books and exercised intentionally a total of 145 miles from start of summer to finish.

I chose myself. I chose life. Best choice I could have ever made. ✨

The last few sets of Maddy’s nails! All natural nails, including a grow out pic! (Pic #2: She decided to go short this last set!) So much creativity! 🤪
