It’s been a busy year so far for the Fat Duck Team. The Sydney Speedway Kart Club Series has been done and we’ve started planning our next 6months of racing. A lot has happened. James (#4) went un-defeated for the club rounds which earnt him Junior Club Champion. There was the “dash for cash” ($1000 prize) which he won. There was a QLD title thrown in where he placed 3rd in the Junior J class and 2nd in the Junior Standard Class. The close of the last season saw him awarded the Speedway Karting of Australia Junior Award for not just his dedication to racing, but the sport itself, volunteering and sportsmanship. Maddy (#44) only raced karts when she could around work commitments. Her 1st race as a senior in a field of 8 talented drivers she drove convincingly and won the day. Her attempt for the Senior “dash for cash” was going well having her race in the 125 Class with her trusty standard motor sitting in the top 1/2 of the pack for the feature. Unfortunately she DNF, but would have been well in contention for a podium place. Moving into the sprint with the new number 94 has seen her run her first race and with a little whoops in the 3rd heat, the car was able to be ready for the feature with 16 cars and 20 laps completed finishing 15th. Keep checking back as we get ready for the late 1/2 of our racing…
