One of the region’s fiercest high school rivalries — and arguably the top volleyball rivalry in the 775 — adds another chapter tonight.

Since 2015, Reno and Bishop Manogue have met eight times in the postseason, splitting those matchups 4–4. The Miners won last year’s league title on Reno’s home floor. While Reno leads the overall series 14–10 in this span, Manogue has taken the last two matches, including their only meeting this season. Over the past decade, the Miners have won three of the last four postseason matchups — all for league championships.

But tonight isn’t about a league title. It’s about survival.
🏆 Winner goes to state.
🏠 Loser stays home.

Reno has reached state every year since 2017 (excluding the COVID year). Manogue is chasing back-to-back appearances after falling in the 2023 semis.

We’ve been lucky to document both teams since 2021 — from preseason portraits to postseason battles. Tonight’s senior photo is part of that tradition. (Full teams not pictured.)

Expect fireworks. Expect grit. Expect another classic in this storied rivalry.

Wishing both programs the best tonight. It’s been an honor to photograph this rivalry.
