Adjacent to the arghaüs series we’ve been filming a sequence of playful skits hosted by a carefully curated line up of comedy talent. Taking inspiration from current online marketing trends, these bite size moments put Argos’ A-List products front and centre whilst nodding to our wider Arghaüs world and the characters within it. As we come out of another block of filming with the Arghaüs team we thought we better share Episode 2 for your viewing pleasure! To secure the future of arghäus, Finn orchestrates an exclusive collaboration with cultural icon Tempest Flow. But when Tempest reunites with Ida and dismisses Finn as someone who might “kill the vibe”, the gallery’s newly appointed Head of Vibes is forced to take matters into his own hands. What follows is a catastrophic networking attempt, a hat-related incident and millions of views. arghaüs is one of those viral creative success stories we’d heard about before seeing. When we were invited to pitch to produce series 2 we of course jumped at the chance. The arghaüs campaign by Argos and Billion Dollar Boy is a social first mockumentary series. Each 2min ‘vertical drama’ takes us into the fictional art gallery arghaüs where Argos’ most premium products are reimagined as high concept, rarified art pieces. The gallery’s squabbling staff members are played by influential creators across social media with a sprinkling of A-List comedy talent too. This blend of character led, episodic storytelling yet with commercial intent is a new challenge for us and one which we knew Writer-Director Fabia Martin was destined to lead! Fabia’s experience in long form comedy, her work as a documentarian and her spots as a commercial director all weave together perfectly for this unique commission. This is our first, glorious collaboration with Billion Dollar Boy and a true example of best practice in production! Mollie and Syd, our agency production sisters - we salute you! Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Prize Finalist! I can’t quite believe it. Nile and Nyella’s portraits will be hanging on the walls of the National Portrait Gallery. Nile (5) and Nyella (15) play for North London United, a football team for people with Down’s syndrome, and are part of the brilliant @krome21_cic community, which offers support in many other ways. These portraits are from my personal project documenting their team. Harold, Krome21’s founder (and Nyella’s dad), told me, “our currency is awareness”, so using photography to amplify their incredible work for the Down’s Syndrome community is an important reminder of how powerful this medium can be and why authentic human connection can never be imitated. I’m eternally grateful to Rachel and Maddy at @parkview.creative who have nurtured and supported me as an artist and who turned my initial research into reality and, alongside Harold, gathered 15 players, their families and support workers at a sports hall in East London. I take pride in making my shoots comfortable and collaborative, and this is a perfect example of why we need more people with learning disabilities both in front of the camera and behind it. I’ll keep working towards that with the @downsyndromeassociation and @fairshotcafe. Thank you to the @nationalportraitgallery and judges @sunilgupta7402 @katy.hessel @timwalker and @sabinajaskotgill See you at the National Portrait Gallery. Birthday, pt 1 ✨🎉 (my mom and I have the same smile, no?) _________________ Waking up on the morning of my 31st birthday, I felt as though 31 was a nothing number. Cute but what’s the point in celebrating? Thinking about that now, I realise that feeling about that age and the weight we place on ‘milestone’ birthdays causes us to become complacent in the “nothing” times and put too much pressure on ourselves coming up to whichever milestone we are about to meet. I’m not going to allow myself to think this way anymore. Every day is what I make it and I will make every day a milestone. I will pay attention to even the most mundane details in my every day and see them in a beautiful way. I will ENJOY MYSELF ALWAYS. That’s my vow to myself at 31.
