So grateful to be able to take some time to get my dad’s handwriting and my rose tattoo. So thankful for my tattoo artist @madebyasami for beautiful work that brought me to tears.

“At age 66, I got my first tattoo. I had been thinking about getting one for a while to pay tribute to my sister Dana who passed away suddenly in 2007, but it took me some time to come up with the idea: three magpies representing my sisters and me. My surviving sister and I are perched on the branch looking towards the sky at the magpie representing Dana, who is flying away toward heaven. I believe there is nothing more Jewish than honoring the memory of our loved ones.”
