Details of Mel's lovely mug @key_eye_yes - portrait painted for @plazawalls @plazadistrict all in aerosol in OKC with @nbqspray @aerosollegends

Felt really good to stretch out on a big portrait piece, even better that it was my east coast twin from another bin AND I got to visit her right after and share the big news that she's immortalized in the middle of the country 😸

Got to surprise my bestie @key_eye_yes with this portrait from a photo I took of her back in undergrad, painted for @plazawalls @plazadistrict in OKC

Thanks so much to the super squad who ran an awesome event, all the artists and friends who participated, and the community that supports public art.

While I was already planning to do a stormy portrait, the road trip there synched the idea by driving through a few rounds of electric storms ⚡️🥳

Follow the signs 🤘

What comes after the monumental push to raise $75,000 in seed funds?

A whole new chapter of turning empty rooms into Santa Cruz’s first all-vinyl listening lounge.

My vision is to build a place where people don’t just consume culture. They participate in creating it.

There’s a lot of work ahead, and I’m bringing you along for all of it!

Welcome to the next chapter of Sonivore. 🎶

I finally got to paint a spider. Meet the Marbled Orb Weaver, a native of Tennessee where I painted for @paint_memphis - another beautiful beneficial buddy that deserves our understanding and care, not our fear. Make friends with the misunderstood monsters. 💌

It was so lovely to return back. Thank you @sundryblossoms for being such a legend. Thank you to the Memphis community and festival volunteers for showing up and showing out. Thank you to all the other artists who inspire and fuel this crucial creative community.

No ai was used in any part of this process. All aerosol. 18'x18' painted in three days.

The Sonivore fundraiser event is happening 🎶‼️

October 9 | 7PM-11PM
701 Front Street

DONATE + RSVP: Venmo @sonivoremusic | Note: “Fundraiser”

In coordination with the Kickstarter campaign that’s currently running, I’m throwing this community event so people can not only support at a level that feels comfortable for them, but to experience the location before we transform it into its final form.

Pull up and support the coming to life of Santa Cruz’s first all-vinyl listening lounge! DJs, Live performance, art, food, drinks, community; it’s gonna be a night!

RSVP for entry by pledging to the Kickstarter or sending your preferred donation amount on Venmo to @sonivoremusic with “Fundraiser” in the note. You can also donate at the door.

Both QRs are on the flyer, and all proceeds go toward bringing Sonivore to life downtown.

Happy October! Fall is a wonderful season for a rambling bike cruise celebrating Santa Cruz public art and our beautiful Central Coast scenery.

The Wheelie Good Time 2.0 benefit event for Felt Street Park is happening Saturday, October 17 and you’re invited! One of our primary goals is fundraising for murals, so we wanted to bring attention to other public art in our local area that adds color to our neighborhoods and enhances our daily lives.

Please add your signature to our petition demonstrating support for a Felt St Park mural: www.change.org/p/felt-street-park-mural-project

This winding route goes from Frederick Street Park in Midtown to Felt Street Park in Live Oak and highlights some of the art and features along the way. We’ve provided artist credit when possible, but please contact us to update and to learn more about sponsorship, volunteering, or getting involved in the WGT2.0: FeltStParkFriends@gmail.com

Let us know your favorite art ride, and we hope to see you on Saturday, October 17! More information at our event webpage (online auction coming soon!): www.givebutter.com/c/WGT2

We encourage active transportation to the WGT2.0 event because bikes are awesome and parking at Felt Street Park is limited – you can register to earn prizes by riding during Biketober with Ecology Action / modo, and join us at the WGT2.0 event to learn more about public works and getting around from the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission.

Fall is also the season for Open Studios Santa Cruz County, so you can combine having a Wheelie Good Time on 10/17 at Felt Street Park with visiting talented local artisans.

Let’s call this segment, SOLD & Going Home. Because after we went IG Live yesterday and talked about all the work that we had in the show we did something incredible and found homes for all of this beautiful work.

The thing about selling artwork is that buyers need to know more about the work and the artist to really understand whether it’s gonna be something that will fit in their home or not. The nice thing about being the Curator of the show and having personal relationships with each of these individuals is that we are the ones that have access to tap into what sparked the creativity and what inspires the creation of that work.

It is true that “art” can really be open for the interpretation of the buyer, but for most who will end up bringing this new artwork home, we want to know how the work can fit in certain spaces in our homes. So having some kind of background will help gravitate the work to the appropriate individual.

(Dad joke incoming):
Buying art is almost like dating when you’re single. Before you take it home, you need to know more about the piece/person/art…

That is of course, unless you’re an art hoe which of course we love them (hoes).

Either way Pimpin ain’t easy bb.

But we digress and give thanks to all the artists, collectors, and everyone who has provided new homes for all of these beautiful pieces.

Thank you!
