WELCOME, EVERYONE! This is the first post of the new page for my animated show idea: In the Life of Car T. Oon! This is a show I've been thinking up for years, and I'm ready to start the process of doing what I have to do to get this show made. . . The story of the show revolves around a young man named Car T. Oon, who protects his city and the world with the use of his toon force abilities. That's all y'all get, for now. 😁 . . As a guy who grew up on prime Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Toon Disney/JETIX, and 4Kids, I want to create a show that does for this generation as those shows have done for mine. To this day, shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender, Ben 10, Teen Titans, Fairly Oddparents, Ed, Edd n Eddy, and more have given my generation fond memories to look back on. And those shows still hold up today. I honestly feel that I can make this show be on the same level as the ones that have entertained and inspired me, and give viewers of all ages something great to consume in this day and age. . . Full transparency: I'm winging it with this. All I have, at this point, are some amazing character designs that I'll be revealing, and writing the stories of the episodes. I'll be learning and growing as I go along, and hopefully meet the right people and support needed to make this project come to life. The current goal is to have something great to present at @dreamconvention in 2027. Wish me luck. Jump Ball: Hybrids 🌍🏀✨ Five years ago, I sat with an idea that wouldn’t leave me alone. Growing up first-generation Nigerian in Toronto surrounded by cultures moving side by side, I always think about how identity is formed, not in isolation, but in shared spaces. On the court. In community. In motion. Hybrids came from that place. A co-ed youth basketball team made up of five kids each carrying generational stories rooted in different regions of Africa guided by a coach whose wisdom, history, and love for the game shape the team. Basketball becomes the meeting ground, but more importantly, the common language. Majok, Idil, Adeyemi, Naeem, and Bukasa. 🌍 🇸🇸 🇸🇴 🇳🇬 🇬🇭 🇪🇬 🇨🇩 🌍 These players each discover their superhuman abilities on the court. Majok’s length dominates the paint. Idil’s speed and handle move her effortlessly end to end. Adeyemi’s vision makes her an elite passer. Naeem is a confident sharpshooter from anywhere. Bukasa brings energy and lift, known for his high-flying finishes.  I didn’t know exactly what this would become then, and I still don’t have a perfect answer now. But as I practice creative openness, I’ve decided to share Hybrids as an unfinished concept because some ideas are too honest to live quietly in hard drives forever. This is a work in progress. A world I believe in. Judgment, rejection and abandonment were my shackles. Pain, shame and despair my cellmates. Although it seemed like I would never leave this place, slowly but surely, I began to break out of the prison walls. Following God’s voice lead me into liberation. His unconditional love, acceptance and delight in who I am healed and transformed me. Now, I am confidently walking in the freedom that was always mine to begin with. Go Togo Season 2 is now available to stream on CBC Gem 🇨🇦 That’s electromagnetic! I worked with @madefromklay and @karolinaficek to design and animate the Tunnel Vision sequences for the show in a faux stop-motion, paper cutout style. My favourite episodes are Togo No-Go and Stella’s Bad Day (18 & 23) because who hasn’t had major FOMO or a really overwhelming day? I’m really proud to have worked on this show. In the age of AI, it’s so refreshing to see work that real people have handmade. Swipe to the end to see the amazing soundstage and the sweet vehicular stars of the show. I FINISHED SOMETHING I STARTED!!! 😃 🎓 As the new season of my life keeps encroaching I realized I never got to reflect and share on the one that just finished. These past four years have been the most deeply touching and formative years of my life. I couldn’t thank God more for the people I’ve gotten to walk and work with at Sheridan 🥹 Thank you for being an answer to my prayers: for the late night movies, the rainy car ride talks, the spontaneous adventures and the all-nighters in the lab. Your passion has been so awe-inspiring to me and allows me to see His goodness so much clearer.
