The last few hours before flying back home. Priceless moments. Bye Korea, hope I will be back less than in 14 years #Seoul #happytobeback

This is Korea. Part 4. We took it easier today, but I have got a bonus at the last photo. The real friendship does exist and I have a living proof standing right next to me after 14 years of living our lives apart #Seoul #happytobe back

Let's talk about the importance of connection across generations. One fateful day in early summer 2021, I randomly signed up for a one day ring making class. I didn't have high expectations but I did have a faint hope that the person teaching the class would somehow connect me to the world of metalsmithing. She was under no obligation to do so, of course. But I figured it couldn't hurt. So Goeun and I went to the @yongsan.crafts on a Sunday morning. As soon as we get there, I start showing some of the rudimentary wire jewelry I had created and the semiprecious gemstones Ram from @kayabeads had provided me. Talking too much and listening too little could have backfired with anyone else. But this award winning artist and former professor saw my enthusiasm and encouraged me in a way I have never been encouraged creatively. That day was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. One where the roles of student and teacher reverse back and forth depending on the topic. One of mentor and mentee, sister, friend, cheerleader and sometimes even adoptive mother and daughter. We give each other courage to venture out into new areas, especially those things that have always been a bit scary. I am finally learning to draw. She is finally on Instagram. (Give her a follow! @artistleetaesook)

When you keep your mind and heart open, exponential growth can be triggered at any age. Whether you are 20, 40 or 60. We have so very much to learn from each other.
