Truly blessed 🫶🏼

And that’s a wrap.

It’s hard to believe one of the biggest parts of my life has come to an end. Dance has not only shaped me into the dancer I am, but also the person I am today. It’s been such a blessing. I’m truly grateful for some of the most amazing friends I’ve made through this sport, friends that feel more like family and have been there for me through every moment. I’m grateful for the coaches that have challenged me to do things I hadn’t believed I was capable of, along with the lessons they gave me that had shaped my dedication. And I’m grateful for every single memory I have made with APA. The competitions, banquets, showcases, practices, simply just being able to move my body, everything. Dance itself is such a privilege and I’m thankful it got to be a part of my life the last 10 years here at APA.

My confirmation verse, Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Applying this to my passion for dance was something that truly grew my relationship with the Lord. God gives everyone gifts to spread His love, and for me, it was dance. Sometimes that meant the literal conversations I had with teammates, but it also looked like dancing to honor God. At every competition I would apply my dances to my relationship with God & right before every one of my dances I would pray and recite Philippians 4:13, leaning on God throughout every practice and competition. None of my dancing was by my own strength, but all strength that I found through the Lord!

This season I had to opportunity to dance to a song called intro to glory. The song was about living all for his glory. Ironic because it was just like my confirmation verse. Looking back I really believe dancing was something God was calling me to, as a part of my testimony. This dance was also about making moves, as dance comes to an end & we start a new path. That showed me how even when things keep moving, God is still the same— He is always good!

Dance has played a huge role in my faith and in my life. I’m forever grateful for the gift of dance and I want to thank all those who made it so special.
