One of my favourite spaces was the centre of the room this year watching guests with Emma Bond from @madiandpip and walk away with a tiny piece of the day to keep. Every illustration was its own little story, the outfits, the smiles, the friends squeezed into frame.

We’re still so chuffed from Friday night and honestly, still trying to wrap our heads around the fact we raised $1 MILLION! 🥹💙

There really aren’t enough words to thank everyone who made this possible. Your generosity means more than you’ll ever know and will help us continue the fight against prostate cancer.

🤍Not the first, not the last — in support of Mater Chicks in Pink🤍

A huge thank you to my beautiful friend Chelle for organising and hosting such an incredible event today at the Pullman.

Bringing together over 200 people for such a meaningful cause was truly something special. The event raised incredible support for Mater Chicks in Pink, helping people navigating their own breast cancer journeys. What a beautiful reminder of what can happen when people come together for a cause that touches so many lives.

I felt so privileged to be part of this special day, surrounded by wonderful people who have experienced breast cancer themselves or supported someone they love through it. 🩷

It was also so lovely to meet new faces, hear different stories and reconnect with some amazing ladies. There is something truly special about being in a room with people who understand just how much this journey can change you.

Chelle, thank you for putting so much love, time and heart into creating such a meaningful event. You should be so proud of what you have achieved today. 🥹💗

Already looking forward to being there again next year!

On Saturday 10 October, Akoya is hosting Not the First, Not the Last. A Chicks in Pink fundraiser high tea for the Mater Foundation’s breast cancer support and research.

2pm to 5pm at the Pullman King George Square, Brisbane.

Champagne on arrival. Decadent high tea. Live illustrator @madiandpip . Guest speaker panel.
Enormous raffle. Luxury silent auction. Best dressed prizes. 200 people. One extraordinary afternoon.
Every dollar raised goes to the Mater Foundation and the fight against breast cancer.

I went through this. I built Akoya from it. And this is how I give something back, with the most incredible room full of humans I can possibly put together.

Oaks Day Fashions: Brisbane ✨
🌺 Oaks Day fashions in Brisbane brought a fabulous and eclectic range of looks thanks to the mixed criteria. As well as the traditional ‘feminine’ theme, there was also a prize for the best ‘touch of Maroon’ theme to celebrate Queensland Day.
🌺 In the fashion competition, the winner was Minette @minette_x (first person featured). Runners up were Kelly @kellbell_bella (in lilac) and Tess @tess131095 (in pink). The prize for the touch of maroon went to Anna @annacampbellnz who was visiting from New Zealand.
🌺 Enjoy this reel which features just some of the many outfits dotted around the venue.
🌺 The day ended with a lively concert and lots of smiles.
