Day 10: #onephotoaday

SD Photo Squad is saddened to hear about the loss of one of our family members @madiesuluhvan. She was a bright, free spirit whose presence would light up every room that she stepped in. Not to mention, she was responsible for a litany of amazing photos. Creating with her was always a pleasure.

Damn, never thought there’d be a day when you wouldn’t pick up my call. You always did.

This is the person I want to publicly memorialize. A wonderful human I met 5 years ago in the marketing world. A colleague who quickly turned into one of my closest friends. Someone who traveled with me around the country and made sure our clients were ready for us and if not, she’d make sure it got done.

She was a young little whipper snapper, sharp beyond her years and awfully bubbly! She knew how to get things accomplished in an efficient manner. She knew that if I wasn’t fed properly my alter ego, Gabé, aka diva photographer would arise! Yup, I told her to F-off once during a shoot and she still stood by me. We grew stronger through all the adversity we faced. She became one of my biggest supporters and me one of hers. She was my blogger, she was my late night chit chat buddy, she was ready to be our nanny even though she never wanted to have kids! She would do anything for me, anytime of day. We needed a model for a Hilton video, which I posted a snippet above and she was like, “hell yeah, I’ll do it! Her laugh was infectious and always present. Her energy was pure.

Never lost a close friend, I’ve only watched from the sidelines. I was sitting in the airport when I got the txt yesterday and didn’t know what to do. I just sat there in disbelief…….emotionless……Waiting for confirmation, hoping it wasn’t true. That this young talented friend of mine was still breathing.

Shit Maddie,
I spoke to all your fans today…Gloria, Kim, Weston and that social coordinator you worked with I don’t know her name, Tiff, Nate, Dave all our people. We’re all hella struggling over here on this side.

I can’t wait to catch up with you in my dreams and hear about all the great stuff you have going on. Don’t be scared, we’re here for you. You know I gotchu like always.
