We’re starting off strong for our first #MEETEXECMONDAY with Madi Gates, our Director of Philanthropy! 🩷

Hometown: Dayton, Ohio
Major: Neuroscience
Fun fact: I started drinking coffee when I was in elementary school!!

“When I first joined ADPi, I wasn’t sure where I belonged or how I was going to fit in. I knew that I loved the girls I was surrounded by and that everyone was someone who I looked up to, but I wasn’t sure how I could contribute to something so special. Serving as the Director of Philanthropy changed my sorority experience entirely. This position has allowed me to grow into who I am and find new ways to contribute to something greater than myself. The relationships that I have been able to form through working so closely with the Ronald McDonald House are the most rewarding aspects of Alpha Delta Pi for me.

This position has truly poured into every area of my life. As a pre-med student, it has allowed me to view healthcare in a completely different point of view. Whether we’re baking cookies for the families, leading a craft night, or visiting the house as a child’s favorite Disney princess, the position has showed me the value in caring for others in whatever way they need you to. As the Director of Philanthropy, my goal is the same as that of the Ronald McDonald House: to support the families that live there.

In ADPi, we work to support the Ronald McDonald House through raising funds by hosting fun philanthropic events and collecting pop tabs that the Ronald McDonald House can turn in for money. At Eta Phi, we are so blessed to be closely located to our local Ronald McDonald House of the Carolinas, allowing us to directly interact and support the families there. One way that we do this is by physically going to the house and preparing meals for the families.

To lead the philanthropic efforts of our chapter has been such an incredible privilege, and it is one that has not only made my ADPi experience, but my Furman experience as well!

All my love,
Madi”
