Where do I even start? Wrestling has changed my life. I never would’ve thought I would make it to state, let alone get 3rd. I have learned so much about myself and how to be a better person and athlete. I never would’ve thought I’d fall in love with a sport such as this. I’ve made countless friendships and memories that I will never forget. Thank you God for the ability to not only wrestle but the ability to succeed in whatever I put my mind to. Without Him, I never would’ve been able to succeed in this sport. To my coaches, thank you for taking a girl who has no clue how to wrestle and shaping me into the wrestler I am today. To my teammates, thank you for the countless hours on and off the mat, the laughs, and the jokes; I wouldn’t want to spend those moments with anyone else. To the sport of wrestling, you’ve turned me into a whole new athlete and changed my perspective on life and sports. I will carry the fundamentals and lessons that wrestling has taught me throughout my life. Only place to go is up. Onto the next season❤️🤼‍♀️

Dear Folk Style Wrestling,
I believe in another life time we could have been best friends. I found it hard to stay in love with the sport when I felt the love surrounding me fade from the most important people in my journey. When I ruined my Patella Track in December, it was almost impossible to stay in the sport. I had never felt so alone during practices, duals, and matches. I was broken mentally and physically, and the lack of feeling supported made me hate this sport. This sport has taught me I can get through anything alone and be okay. However, during the loneliest time period of my life, this sport brought me so many new people to laugh and enjoy my final moments of my season with. Every chance to compete, every friend made, and every memory will forever be a blessing. Goodbye High School Wrestling. 👋🏼
