Dear softball, When I first started, I was just a kid who didn’t really know what I was doing, more excited about being there than actually being good. It was fun and simple, and I didn’t overthink anything. As I got older, I started to care more about how I played, what others thought, and whether I was improving. There were moments of confidence, but also times I doubted myself, especially after mistakes or tough games. I learned how to fail and still show up the next day. Over time, softball became more than just a sport—it reflected who I was, how I handled pressure, and how much effort I was willing to give. Now, I don’t just think about wins or losses, but everything it’s taught me and the different versions of myself that grew with it. As a senior, it doesn’t feel real that this part of my life is ending after 13 years of softball being part of my everyday life. Softball is a mental game—you will make mistakes, but they don’t define you; learn from them and move forward. You’ll fail more than you succeed, so keep a positive attitude, stay confident, and don’t compare yourself to others. Surround yourself with people who believe in you, ask for help, and take advice from coaches and teammates. Take practices and games seriously, appreciate the time you have, and enjoy every moment. Watching this program and my teammates grow over the years has been one of the most rewarding parts of being on this team. To my coaches, thank you for your time, patience, and for believing in me—I will always be grateful and cherish these memories. Once a lady gator always a lady gator🐊🥎 #2 Signing out
