One year with Cirque du Soleil Mystère 🌞

Last year, I made one of the hardest decisions of my life. I left college, moved across the country and accepted my first professional contract with no idea what to expect.

This year challenged me in so many ways, but looking back I can say that every challenge shaped me into the person and artist I am today. More than that it reminded me why I fell in love with dance in the first place and I wouldn’t trade that for anything.

It taught me to trust myself, stop living for anyone else’s expectations and start building a life that feels true to me. There were moments I thought I couldn’t do it, but I’m so glad I trusted myself to keep going.

Through the fear, growth and the unforgettable moments I found a version of myself that I’m really proud of.

To the cast and crew at Mystère, everyone who has supported me and everyone who has come to see the show, thank you so much for being part of this chapter.

This is just the beginning 🫀

Loved creating these classic shots with Madi

From the incredible shapes she was able to make, to the way she created movement and stillness in the same breath, I was absolutely floored by it. Literally!

Inspiration comes from everywhere
Sometimes I see shapes or colors that will later inspire me
Sometimes I see shapes and I think of specific person
It’s always different
But what stays the same is what I feel when I come across that inspiration
The best part is showing the model the idea and getting their interpretation of it
My photo sessions are truly collaborative
Mixing two ideas and feelings can lead to unique art

Isolation

I love how much I’ve evolved as a photographer over the past few years, pushing my own boundaries. And I want to keep surprising myself. I want to look at my photos and say “wow!”
I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep saying it: I am so grateful for everyone who trusted me to create the art that I create.
