🌻 Spent our sunny bank holiday with @nabihahiqbal at @goodwoodartfoundation! It was really lovely working with Nabihah again, performing her new nature-inspired string quartet alongside her on stage 🥰

Loved being bathed light by @daisy_dickinson_films’ stunning visuals 🔆 And hearing the fab @tlkvox and cellist @lucindachua’s gorgeous sets.

It was our second time being invited to Goodwood with Nabihah – hope to be back again…

Over the last however many months, alongside working on my new album, I've been working on another massive project: composing a 40-min piece for string quartet and electronics. The piece is entitled "Imagined, Eternal." It was commissioned by @goodwoodartfoundation and this weekend, we performed it / people heard it for the first time and what a special feeling it was!!!! 🌸 The concert took place within the beautiful grounds of the art foundation, and it was brought to life by @manchestercollective string quartet: @alinkarowe @katherinehunka @aliciaberendse @madliner 🎻 The transcendental live visuals were done by @daisy_dickinson_films 😍 Special guest performances were given by @tlkvox and @lucindachua 💓 Sound mixed by the dextrous @merther_hum 🙏🏽 More footage coming soon courtesy of @theillusionofdepth but here are a few clips for now because I'm too excited and can't wait to share it!!! Thanks to this ultimate dream team - it was an honour and a pleasure to be able to create this piece and to bring together so many amazing, talented people in order to create some magic over two balmy summer evenings in the English countryside. Thank God our lives are punctuated by these moments of beauty!!!! Thank you everyone who came to the shows to share the experience with us. I will never forget it and I hope I can share my new work again soon with more audiences 🌻🤞🏽❤️ Imagined, Eternal.

This one is really special for me.

A Collection of Memories is a curated album of songs that I wrote between 2019 and 2023. All of these songs were recorded at either Abbey Road or AIR Studios.

When I first got approached to do one of these sessions, it came as a dream come true. To be candid about how these sessions worked it was simple, write music that (hopefully) didn’t suck and then record these songs with the kindest and most incredible musicians out there. Creatively, I was lucky enough to be given pretty much no boundaries. Total freedom to write whatever felt good and if ever I felt stuck or needed any kind of feedback I had the greatest support system around me to chat about how we could make this music better (and lots of chats were had about this!). It goes without saying that being part of such an amazing environment really helped me thrive to write music that I’m still really proud of to this day.

There’s a village of people involved in making all of this come to life and with AI being prevalent in so many industries (including the music industry), I’m so proud to say that this music was entirely human made. From world class musicians, the entire studio team, recording engineers, the orchestration & score prep team, conductors, mixing and mastering engineers, each song has gone through dozens of people’s touch, expertise and skillset that no machine could ever replicate. These songs are made with imperfections (mostly my own) and that’s what makes them perfect to me.

This music has been in the licensing world for a number of years now and has lived a life of its own appearing in more things than I can even keep track of. You may have even heard one of these songs in the background of a movie or a commercial and while I never take moments like these for granted, I’ve been hoping for a while to release this music commercially. I feel immensely proud to finally be able to share this music with you today and I really hope one of these songs clicks with you.

My new album 'These Frightening Machines' is out now! 2 years in the making, finally released, and I couldn't be prouder. It's wonderful to know that these songs that have meant so much to me are now going to be taking on new meanings elsewhere. Do whatever you will with them! They are as much yours as they are mine, and they're now available to stream, download and purchase on all the usual platforms.

I want to thank everyone who helped bring this album to life - especially @robellisdrums , @benchristophers , @patrickjamespearson and all the amazing musicians. They say it takes a village, but somehow I ended up with a city ❤️ With that in mind, I also want to thank YOU for your support and encouragement. This is my third plunge inside the music industry machine, and it turns out these machines aren't quite as frightening as they seem, with the right people behind and around you.

This album is for anyone who has ever felt their body falter, their love waver, or time slip through their fingers.

We also thank all those utterly brilliant people who have joined us on our wise Quest so far. We couldn’t go through the years of footage and photos we had for too long (eyes gone squiggly) but we reckon we got some goodies here. So sorry if you have been missed! We love you all!

Plans have been planning and life has been life-ing, and we have not posted for a while! Just wanted to sneak on here before the end-of-year celebrations begin to say what a gorgeous time we had at Soho Folk & Blues a few weeks ago, with the wonderful @amy_hollinrake (who brought her Shruti box along so naturally we had a two-ty shruti party). Thank you so much to Graham @folkandroots for having us.

We loved the opportunity to sing totally acoustic in such a cosy space (we’ve never felt so calm on a gig not having to fight with a PA system) and also to play with our dearest @madliner. To finally meet and share voices with Amy was a big treat - her solo offerings were a truly special mix of traditional English folk, Americana and original songs, some cappella, some accompanied by the dulcimer and some with the Shruti. More gigs together please!! Also more gigs where we’re 2 foot from the audience?! 🙏🏼 so cosy x

Hope you’re all staying well as the dark draws in. Let cosiness reign 🕯️ 🌙 🌲 🧤 ❄️
