Number one in ten countries. Absent from her own national ranking. Here’s why….

Hello my followers,

1985. Madonna wrote this song for a DJ friend. Then she changes her mind, and keeps it for her own film. The friend, furious, will never really forgive him.
The title becomes an international cult. Number one in the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain. But in the United States, an administrative rule even prevents it from entering the charts.
Released only on side B, never as an official single, the song is simply ineligible for the Billboard ranking at the time.
Total irony: this same magazine will eventually elect the song of the entire 80s, voted by its own readers.
A world hit, absent from its own country of origin on the charts. Some of the greatest songs in history have never needed a ranking to become legendary.

Some songs don’t need a chart position to prove their greatness. « Into the Groove » is the ultimate proof: never released as a single in the US, never charted in its own country, and yet crowned song of an entire decade by the very magazine that had excluded it. Sometimes, recognition arrives through a door no one saw coming.

Did you know it never charted in the US? 👀 Drop your take below.

A message on gun control. A debate that divided even the survivors concerned.….

Hello my followers,

2019. Madonna releases a video calling for gun control. The staging directly evokes the tragedy of the Pulse Nightclub in 2016.
A survivor of this same tragedy describes the clip as insensitive. A survivor of Parkland, a figure in the arms control movement, also publicly criticizes him.
Others, on the contrary, salute the gesture, judging Madonna’s voice precious in this fight. Activist George Takei publicly thanked her.
Faced with the controversy, she simply answers: “Weapons kill. That’s the reality.” She will continue to perform this title on stage, including at WorldPride New York.
A sincere message, an execution that divided even the people she wanted to defend. Some subjects never leave a possible consensus.
Some subjects are ones where good intentions never guarantee the right approach. Madonna wanted to warn, to denounce, to wake people up. Some of the very people she meant to honor told her that how mattered as much as what. No absolute right or wrong in this debate — just proof that addressing a real tragedy demands a care that even the most sincere intention can never fully replace.

A serious subject, which deserves to be treated seriously. Your opinion, with respect? 👀 Say it in the comment.
