Do existing systems enable us to live sustainably?

Floods, forest fires, the rise of AI data centres: the issues are big and they can leave us feeling powerless. This evening is about what we can do.

Join us for an inspiring evening with changemakers as we unpack the challenges and hopes of working within the systems we live in.

Together, we’ll explore alternatives, empowered action, and connect with a community of like-minded people.

Our panelists :
⭐️Cuifen @foodcitizensg | Initiator & Co-creator of Food Citizen
⭐️Ming Min (Flo) @mingg.min | Educator and Founder of The Living Sanctuary
⭐️Winona @terratea.co | Sustainability Consultant
⭐️[Moderator] Huishan @huishan.healing | Founder of Terra Tea

Come hear about what our panel of changemakers have learned on their journeys navigating systems, while exchanging perspectives over dinner in a welcoming and honest space at Mad Roaster's Slow Bar. @madroaster

Be inspired by lived experiences, the challenges, hopes, roadblocks and the resilience it takes to keep going and hopefully leave with curiosity, thoughtful reflections or a connection with a potential partner in change!

☕️ About Terra Tea
Terra Tea is a regenerative social enterprise building a culture of conscious consumption. 20% of our profits to charity in Bali, giving back to the land and people where our tea begins.

We reimagine business as a force for good, through ethical sourcing, sustainability advocacy, and circular innovation, always asking the question of "How can we do things differently?"

Through thoughtful experiences, community and dialogues like this, we hope to create meaningful spaces for conversations where changemakers (or the curious) can come together to support one another in taking empowered actions together, for the better.

🐓 Had @madroaster Slow Bar bookmarked for the longest time and finally made it down a couple of days ago for lunch. Went for the interesting main of Beef & Marrow Rice Bowl 🥩 ($24) and a not so interesting Strawberry Matcha 🍵 ($8). I only drink strawberry matcha once in a blue moon when I don’t see any other interesting drinks on a menu (fellow non-coffee drinker 😬)
—
BUT I’ve got to say their strawberry matcha 🍓 impressed me!! It was pretty thick and just the right strawberry purée to matcha ratio - a couple of bitter notes from the matcha and a bit of sweetness from the purée to balance it out! The beef & marrow dish is definitely an indulgence 🤣 with cubed beef ribs and smooth marrow butter 🧈! The addition of puffed rice was a great decision - to add a bit of crunch and neutral flavour to the dish. In between bites of the beef ribs & marrow butter, the pickled daikon helped to cut out the greasiness too! 👏

This cafe is within @enablingvillage and they support people with disabilities as well as refugees! Go support this cafe if you’re in the area 😇🥰
