• Mr. & Mrs. Walles •
I think I cried at this wedding about twenty times. Never in the big, loud moments, but always in the quiet ones. It was the intentionality woven into every detail, and the deep love of the people they chose to surround themselves with.
From her great-grandmother’s vintage watch, to the tears shed before they even saw each other for the first time.
Mady chose her grandparents to sign as their marriage witnesses, because to her, they have always been the blueprint of the greatest love story.
They stood and said their vows on a rug that will follow them from house to house, a beautiful reminder that home was never a place… it’s a person. That true love isn’t like fleeting fireworks; it’s more like a constant porch light glow.
I could name a dozen more moments that brought me to tears, but I’ll leave you with this… Mady and Anthony are two of the most genuine souls you will ever meet. Years from now, I have no doubt their own grandchildren will look at them and know that they were the blueprint.

NGWSD seems like an appropriate time to share this story…

I had always dreamed of being a college gymnast and working in college athletics, especially in the SEC. So much so that I used to write letters of admiration to colleges in 5th grade. After our meet at Alabama the other week, I introduced myself to Sarah and told her how much it meant to me to receive a letter back from her when I was 11 years old. I told her “it made my life” at the time. And what a privilege it is for me to be standing here today in similar shoes as she once was. Coaching in the SEC, getting to work with amazing women, inspiring the next generation, and continuing to help grow the sport of gymnastics. I couldn’t be more thankful to be in the position I am in.

Keep chasing your dreams, as Sarah once told me 💌 happy national girls and women in sports day!
