Camp Daniel 2026

This summer, I got the most incredible, meaningful, and life changing opportunity to spend a week at Camp Daniel serving people with disabilities. This year Camp Daniel's theme was "More than Gold". What seemed like a simple sentence at first glance soon turned into conversations with campers about how they are valuable and created with a purpose, no matter their disability. How God made them, God loves them, and God has a plan for their life.

I went into this week thinking that being a counselor meant pouring into my camper without expecting anything in return. But, I quickly learned that she would pour into me in ways I could never expect. My bucket had overflowed in the process of me emptying it.

My campers name was Livi. From the minute I met her, I realized the impact she would leave, and now has left on my heart + soul would be immeasurable. Livi is THE literal epitome of joy🥹. Whether it was us dancing, painting, or laughing together, her loving spirit was contagious and you couldn't help but gravitate towards her. Through Livi's example of how to truly love others, i found myself starting to truly love myself. I think about our hugs everyday and find myself missing both her and camp. Thank you @camp_daniel , and go red team!!!

"My cup overflows with blessings."

Camp Daniel Internship 2026
I don’t know how I’m supposed to sum up what kind of life changing experience this was. This summer I spent two months at Camp Daniel, serving children and adults with disabilities. Over this summer I learned what it really means to love, serve, and grow. I was challenged in ways I didn’t expect, and while I had moments of failure, I learned to keep pushing myself and trust God through it all. This summer I really learned how to be selfless and serve others. I made unforgettable memories, built new friendships, and treasured the friendships and memories I already have. I feel incredibly blessed and grateful for this opportunity and everything it taught me, but all good things do come to an end. I already miss everyone and this internship so much! I Hope to see you all soon!

Halfway through summer update!:
The first half of my summer missionary internship at Camp Daniel has changed my heart in many ways. God has shown me more about who He created me to be. This year at Camp Daniel the theme is “More Than Gold”. We get to teach our campers about how god loves them, and their value is not any less than anything else. I’ve learned to find peace, joy, and love in the smallest moments, and those moments have felt like the biggest blessings. I feel as though I could go on and on about all the amazing experiences and interactions I’ve already had so far. I’m so thankful for everything God has taught me so far, and I’m excited to see what He has planned for the next three weeks with all of our amazing volunteers and campers!!
