i’m jealous of the people who are writing love letters to 2024.

all I want to do is scream into an abyss so loud that some of the parts erase. this year was, as they say, not my year.

i experienced heartbreak, i lost touch with my greatest passion, i struggled A LOT mentally, i cried weekly during the last 5 months of this year & hardly anyone knew. i lost friendships, i was incredibly lonely, much of my life felt like a task.

but as i have had the opportunity to reflect on life, 2024 has taught me that every single year that you have lived through is one you should claim. although this year was “not my year”, there were moments, weeks, and days that were “mine”. for the first time ever, i hit a good reads goal of 50 books. i got to be in love & simply love. i got into and had the opportunity to attend the university that has been my dream since fourth grade. my team was a WGI finalist, i got to watch my best friends live their dreams in so many different ways: attending an ivy league, making an independent guard, BOA Grand Nationals, going to the SEC championship. i made some very intentional, genuine friends. i ended this year with absolutely certainty that i am loved & i love very deeply. and most importantly, that God is always here.

i am not perfect. i wasn’t always a great friend, i could have tried harder in school, i could have done mounds of things differently. but i am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. & my encapsulating resolution for 2024 is just do MORE. have more fun, go out of my way to be kind more often, recycle more, be around people that make you laugh more, give more hugs, talk to God more, my goal is to simply be MORE me.

no matter what 2025 holds, i am prepared to welcome it with open arms. i am excited for what God has in store, and i know that i will be okay, either way, its still my year. 💌
