Eaton Hall - King City About a 15 minute drive north of where I live, Sir John Craig Eaton(yes, of the Eaton centre) on the advice of his friend, Sir Henry Pellett(guy who built Casa Loma, also had property nearby) built a 33,000 sq ft mansion on top of a hill right next to a lake for his wife, Lady Eaton. It was designed in the Norman style and included 72 rooms. In 1944 it was then converted into a hospital for the Royal Canadian Navy during the war. After Lady Eaton's death in 1970, the land was bought by Seneca College, where it served as an administrative building until 1991, when it was restored and is now used as a conference centre.
